GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

So I'm guessing the P42s are slated to be scrapped?

Metrolinx confirmed the new wave of diesels will not be retiring the F59s. Also I feel the F59s will continue to remain as long as the St. Mary's bridge still cannot support the weight of the heavy MPI units.

Now here's something funny and interesting I'd thought I'd mention There was a point in time today where the entire Kitchener line was powered by solely F59s (the London train and 3 off peak 6 car sets) Image taken from Transsee.ca

Guessing since Wabtec owns both GE and MPI, they reused the HSP46 shell for a modernized GE Genesis locomotive.

Considering the outer shell seems to be based off of the HSP46, a 4 axle locomotive, I think a 4 axle version could be built.

So here's something interested that was found. Seeming to be cataloged sometime in 2018, likely for the Amtrak bid, GE (now Wabtec) appeared to model a modernized version of the Genesis locomotive know as the P47AC. While it was not chosen, it still could be available as it was built in Erie...

I believe it is the same one, kinda odd it hasn't been picked up yet Guessing once it will be refurbished it will regain it's cab controls

GO is planning on acquiring 13 diesel locomotives (with an option for 20 more) within the years of 2024 to 2025 for service expansions before electrification.

Apparently there is a refurbished cab car on 623's consist right now EDIT: Confirmed to be cab car 206, last car in the consist right behind the engine facing east

Not really, the only other thing I can think of are the agencies that receive non newly built locomotives (ie. Trinity Railway Express receiving rebuilt F40PHs or West Coast Express receiving a rebuilt F59PH)

The F125 is still available for sale so I would not count it out just yet.

If 242-250 were to be reactivated Them + the Series II cabs would equal to 24 added cab cars That could lead to GO maybe ordering more than 13 locos (perhaps the 33 if 20 more are added to the order)

Also to note Notice that 242 still has it's side conductor window in place. I'd assume that would mean that it, along with the other Series VII cab cars are being reactivated.

The later ones yes. Some of the older ones (most notably cab cars 251, 252, and 253) are in pretty rough shape.

Which Series of cars is it? I see the Series VII cars being repainted in the article but that at most would only be 94 coaches.

Kind of surprised no other loco besides 607 and 615 have been repainted thus far.

I'm referring to the refurbishment of the Series VII cars, which was awarded to the Alstom Thunder Bay plant in 2021. https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001250/building-ontario-with-investments-in-go-transit-bi-level-rail-coaches
