Imagine how long it will take to get it up.

It may be a bit late to request design changes, seeing as most of the buildings around it are boring glass columns. Besides is it only a request, or a demand. Big difference. I know the city owns part of it, but do they have enough pull to actually get major changes done? Add a few more floors...

A lot of sales dudes or waiters. From the street the parking garage will be all but invisible. From a few floors up it will be a bit drab. They can dress that up easily with different tiles and a few windows. I'm no architect, but i'm sure it's eassy and not all that expensive.

You're right. I never noticed the base. Its a problem I've always had. The base in the first photo is quite ugly. The seconds shot you don't see it.

The sales center is disappointing, considering what it could have been like. Hopefully it's restored to look something like it would have in it's hey day. The building model itself isn't too bad at all.

There was a time not long ago when everyone was excited about the weekly new project that was coming down the pipes. The love affair is now over after the results are 50-70 stories completed. With few exceptions, there isn't much to get excited about anymore. The same set of architectural...

Barely a pass and easily forgettable for the first 80+ building in the city. I don't see the wow factor in this one, but as you know by now, i expect more from projects in the city, and am getting used to underachievers. I keep hoping that next time......

    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

Finally a competition for a major highrise on the waterfront. This is what i have been waiting for. The buzz for this could put a little pressure on the upcoming structures to bump it up a bit. Nice to see

It's nothing more than venting. I expect nothing with the wow factor, but it sure would be nice.

Agreed, basic design, better materials. Doesn't, mean there. Is latitude for every lazy architect to steal some other first year design school project. . The same boring borrowed structures. Wow, we're all impressed.

    Toronto The Residences of 488 University Avenue | 206.95m | 55s | Amexon | Core Architects

It's a copy of a nice building. but with a fat bottom. Similar to some people I've met. It's nothing to look twice at. If constructed as is, it will disappear in the city landscape without a second glance.

I remember reading the same thing. Apparently that was incorrect.

Hiring an international architect could open a whole new world for the city. All we need is one developer to break the mould, and I'm sure people would be pleasantly surprised, and a new level would be set.

I hope this is a joke of sorts. The Four Seasons is a tall sleek building, but one is enough. Exact copies just shows how lazy designers can be. This is a shorter, stumpier, frumpier exact copy of the same thing. Someone get on this, and just say no!!

Check out the Icon. This is genius compared to that.

AT, point taken. You are absolutely correct. The ones recently built, and the ones under construction are clones from the Bland School of Inferior Design and Architecture. It must be one busy place, for photo copies and rubber stamps.

A building like that is what we are looking for. But i fear there are no builders willing to fork out the cash, because, well, they don't have to. If it was an ugly tall mausoleum, it would still likely sell out. Why would they bother. Only someone who wants to stand out in the crowd would...

You are being quite generous. The well deserved criticism of this box could fill pages on this forum, and many others.

That is some fantastic sculpture. A beautiful unique addition to the street scape.
