    Toronto 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

There shouldn't be much resistance to this as it is a rental complex. There has been a concern in the recent past about the lack of rental construction. Hopefully the beings at city hall run this through the hoops with little problem. It looks good from that render anyway.

    Toronto Casa III Condos | 179.52m | 55s | Cresford | a—A

That's the whole idea. Half the engineering is already done. Photo copy prints from from I and II and your halfway there. If it's going to sell anyway, why bother spending more than you need to.

I'm not against Urbanity as you call it by any means. I now live in a small town because i had to move for work. There are no highrises here, and never will be in my lifetime. I've pondered the idea of selling everything and moving to highrise in the city to rid myself of all this...

Cities like Hong Kong have limited space for Urban sprawl, hence high rises to maximize the limited area. Toronto does not have this barrier, but government policy to build up instead of out to prevent urban sprawl is a McGoofy thing. They have limited the size of building lots, not just in the...

The nimby's I was referring to are the local residents, a lot of who live in high rises, just not as high as the proposal. It's a large city that is quickly evolving, but a lot of people want to keep the status quo. They'll have to get over it.

    Toronto U Condominiums | 183.79m | 56s | Pemberton | a—A

That's the first photo i've seen with someone actually working on site. Maybe they are getting serious.

It's not bad, but someday the DRP will get the plans, and i'm afraid the results won't be pretty. The nimby's will be out in force, and demand changes.

It can't be cheap to rent these cranes, and then use them use them as sparingly as they have.

Thanks for saying what a lot of us are thinking. Lets move on.

There appears to be a new design idea that is becoming more and more common. The wavy balcony look to remind us of the water I guess. It's ok, but I hope there isn't a trend where we'll all be tired of looking at them. It can be overdone quickly.

    Toronto Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

More than likely. It's an interpretation challenge when deciphering visions. I have them all the time, but my wife puts an end to that. I digress. I hope there are more renders to come.

    Toronto Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

It's supposed to look like a greater being is shining down on the towers and giving thumbs up.

It's only a casino, not a reprise of Caligula. Cities build casinos, people work and play there, and life goes on. There won't be dead bodies to clean every morning, the empire won't fall. All the paranoia will fade away after a while. Of course when the city turns it down, non of this will matter.

The people in the city that want to gamble have a plethora of methods to do so. They can hop on a bus and go to Rama or Niagara Falls. People have this idea that a casino downtown is going to spawn a whole new breed of gamblers that will line up for hours to spend money they don't have. There is...

It appears City council is going to turn it down based on the number of committed votes. It will be built someplace but not downtown. All the disagreements and arguments are moot at this point.

It has to be an economic factor also. Maximize return on ever increasing property values. Buildings that stand out also become known by the name world wide. No better advertising.

I'm quite sure you understand what i was commenting on, or maybe not.

    Toronto Southcore Financial Centre & Delta Toronto | 159.71m | 45s | GWL | KPMB

Ice and the Delta hotel are adding some much needed change to the area, other than the over used green glass curtain wall.
