The nimby's I was referring to are the local residents, a lot of who live in high rises, just not as high as the proposal. It's a large city that is quickly evolving, but a lot of people want to keep the status quo. They'll have to get over it.

It appears City council is going to turn it down based on the number of committed votes. It will be built someplace but not downtown. All the disagreements and arguments are moot at this point.

It has to be an economic factor also. Maximize return on ever increasing property values. Buildings that stand out also become known by the name world wide. No better advertising.
