    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

Given the small footprint of the site this is moving as quickly as you could expect. Take a closer look..they aren't able to fly forms here from level to level for the underground. Looks like they don't have the room to do that which likely also explains why its taking a little longer than normal.

    Toronto YC Condos -- Yonge at College | 198.42m | 62s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

There is a building to be demolished that essentially covers the entire site -- where would they be able to bring in equipment to put a shovel in the ground?

Agreed. Also you have to look at the forming contractor. They are the ones putting up the tower. If they arent moving the towers will take forever to build. Bisha was a deep hole which in large part explains why it took so long to get back to grade. Also the structural ramp that was used at the...

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

I think they have some hauling to do yet. They have been waiting on the shoring for a couple of weeks which is why there havent been alot of trucks lately. This is what the site guys mentioned today as i passed by...

    Toronto Karma Condos | 165.8m | 50s | Lifetime | a—A

There was lots of issues with water at the lower level - they didnt have a traditional dewatering system like many of the other deep excavations in the area have had which slowed things down.

    Toronto Lago at the Waterfront | 162.15m | 50s | Mattamy Homes | Graziani + Corazza

Lago is a much larger site and deeper as well. The site is also all bedrock which is tougher to excavate. I am in this area daily and week to week you see big changes at the site.

That's likely right. They only use rakers (beams you see) when owners of adjacent properties are not willing to have tie back anchors on their property.

    Toronto Eau du Soleil Condos | 227.98m | 66s | Empire | Richmond Architects

looks like the pictures of the work underway is not for Eau Du Soleil but rather Jade...I walked by today and they were working on Jade and not the Empire lands

    Toronto INDX Condos | 178.6m | 54s | Lifetime | P + S / IBI

I heard that they changed the shoring design and because of all the extra work involved for them, excavation can only proceed when they are complete. Given the small area it wont take long to get the site down.

This one is 4 levels of u/g parking.

    Toronto INDX Condos | 178.6m | 54s | Lifetime | P + S / IBI

The site is going down 5 levels I was told. Although it may appear to be barely moving given the tight space and depth alot of shoring work was and is involved which explains why they arent any deeper.

    Toronto The Madison | 121m | 36s | Madison Group | Kirkor

I was told that they dropped the excavation (dug deeper) for the large raft foundations that have been poured. Looking at the work down there its clearly not a typical rebar and concrete foundation. They are using a membrane around the entire excavation before they finally pour the footing. They...

    Toronto Bisha Hotel and Residences | 146.91m | 44s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Not quite yet..this is a deep one...I was told they are just over half way to go..6 floors underground

    Toronto The Madison | 121m | 36s | Madison Group | Kirkor

The site was being dewatered and perimeter shoring continued...this is the final cut prior to foundations and ramp removal...

It will be going down 5 levels

    Toronto The Madison | 121m | 36s | Madison Group | Kirkor

Excvation can only go as fast as the perimeter shoring...its a sequence...the perimeter shoring was installed in mid October so given that was only a couple months ago this one is moving along quite nicely..

    Toronto The Yorkville Condominiums | 104.54m | 31s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

not unusual for this size of work area. They gather all the material in one area then haul away for a couple of days until they get to the bottom which looks like they may get there soon...
