Apparently the BL36s have had several issues with Tri Rail, mostly due to HEP issues.

I have seen the MP54s pulling 6 car consists, however am unaware of the notorious failure rate with 12 car trains. Though I have heard the MP54s aren’t that reliable so would not be surprised.

I wonder where the locomotives will be built. Will it be the Alstom plant in Thunder Bay or elsewhere?

I have noticed GO has seemingly put most of them on 10 car consists, after mostly being on 12 car consists since the middle of 2022.

From what I’ve seen, only 251 and 252 are configured like this. I’ve noticed them being midset on the weekday Kitchener Line trains and then the consist being split into 6 car sets on the weekends with them leading.

Just saw an entirely old livery consist on the 18:54 to Aurora (252 was the cab and 612 was the loco). Haven't seen one of those in years.

I just wonder where equipment like that is stored and maintained, haven't seen stuff like that at either Willowbrook or Whitby.

It’s weird, they’re supposed to be refurbished, however it seems with the new repaint contract, MX has started repainting them before they get refurbished.

Yeah those two cars (the ex GO BiLevel cab car and the Hyundai Rotem cab car) are the first to be repainted into Tri Rail’s new scheme. (picture not mine)
