    Worst City?

Canberra is pretty awful. Over-planned, overly sterile with absolutely no urban feel to it at all. Unless I somehow missed it, the closest thing to a downtown was a shopping mall.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Actually, it's a Buick, identifiable by the row of rosettes resembling those of a leopard.

Looking north on Spadina, east side, south of Dundas, 1906: Is that house with the bay window north of the second set of pillars the same as the one below?

I recall being told that as a funeral parlour, they specialized in children's funerals.

Changes to The National as CBC unveils new look

I find the constantly shifting background very annoying, unnecessary and a distraction from the business at hand of informing. Is this a ploy to attract the Much Music crowd? Poor Peter looks like he's a weary wiener vendor attending to his glass cart on King Street West. I hope they don't force...

    Where do you bank?

Although I don't bank with TD, I did work for them about a hundred years ago. I was very impressed that one of the first things they taught me at head office was that a good teller never pays for their own lunch but should stiff the customer for services charges and then pocket the proceeds...

Lady Pellatt had a particularly difficult row to hoe. She deserves our compassion despite her hair.

It is also remarkably similar to the 56 Ford Fairlane and 56 Customline models although the bumper is not quite as pronounced.

One can't but wonder if those in favour of this project are going to use the same arguments in favour of the proposal for Church & Gloucester.

Are those shallow people making those shallow judgements worth fretting over? I'm uncertain why you would think that someone who doesn't submit to those artificial standards is a sociopath. What is so wrong with being yourself - that is who you are and unless you are a major crim, why should you...

Judged by who and why would one care what others mistakenly think?

    Toronto Bloor Street Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Bloor-Yorkville BIA | architectsAlliance

I think Holts and the stores east of it were erected on the existing foundations for the Woolies and Zellers which originally occupied the site. I recall that there was an issue with the ground floor of one which was a few inches higher than the other. At the time, it seemed odd that it was not...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Quite possibly. I don't recall it being anything else but I could be wrong. Toby's was a local chain. There was one at Yonge & Bloor before the block got torn down for the ill-fated 1 Bloor East. They served a really decent hamburger.
