    But it just looks like every bland glass box in downtown.. imo. I think that part of the well is bulky and lazy, I would have liked to see some colour or something other than glass to create a visual interest for the area.

    suck retail from what streets though? From the few cafes & soulless vibe of city place? If this becomes successful, perhaps it gives people more options rather than just the well (especially if downtown keeps growing).

    Unfortunately, when you have Adamson architects the result will fall short of that considering what buildings they have designed before. I will be really angry if we see more glass boxes, and hell I will grill them at a meeting if I see it happen.

    In terms of airplane use, yes because bombardier is ceasing operations in 2022. They are discussing right now interim uses for the runway - opening it up fully year-round for pedestrians and events in a couple years time.

    One million square feet - Wow. If you compare that size to existing studios owned by hackman that is crazy, as well as to the 800,000 sq ft studio city in Markham. As a film buff I am going crazy.

    I honestly think there's enough parkland with the current Downsview park plus its expansion into the park commons. What this bedroom community needs are things to do and places to work. I love the support for the arts too, kind of reminds me of a potential spitalfields/shoreditch kind of vibe...

    I agree, I just hope it looks visually attractive though. There could be numerous potential for the canal streets/restaurants too which I haven't heard too much about, something in between Copenhagen's Nyhavn, Museum Island in Berlin and Amsterdam would be nice for Toronto.

    This comment aged well, it has become more popular and widespread. Some guy did a ted talk on it actually, I really hope it will continue and evolve. It's super interesting how MLE and MTE have developed alongside each other.
