Toronto Station Square + Park Lawn Gardens | ?m | 66s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

I'm optimistic as well, but I'm very curious about the retail itself. It could be a game changer in terms of audiences, alongside the architecture. Hopefully a destination will be carved out of humber bay.

woof, I know. Even Canary wharf - which was also a CF development, everyone in London finds it soulless and not worth passing through - even with “events” there :/

Aren't Adamson the architects though? Which, if you look at their portfolio, is basically just the same trash.

I think there is still potential in the Portlands too if we get another developer like henning-larsen, or acclaimed architect. My curiosity stretches to wonder why there are some developments that get award-winning architects on board (such as Quayside, Downsview, or 2150 lake) but not a major...

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. I feel like I just spend hours thinking about if only if we had buildings like London or Paris, or Copenhagen (as a contemporary model)... You're completely right, but this is just unsustainable model of growth and all about bureaucracy — will this change...

Then what is the point of city planning? Where is the creativity and originality? You said it beautifully but my blood is just boiling, I have become so cynical to planning and the province now; just sitting back and watching Toronto become destroyed by developers. Capitalism and greed at...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

The Downsview development will be a whooping 40,000/sq km. Nothing like Toronto has seen. Also, what will be the density of the christie site? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

While I didn't know Ezra personally, I have acquaintances who have worked with them in the arts community on shoots. Apparently they were a beautiful soul who didn't deserve the darkness clouding them. Very sad.

Hey guys, some renderings for the Northcrest 1st district (engulfing the studio campus + beyond) is on the townhall: https://northcresttogether.ca/projects/district-1 I tried taking screenshots but the quality is really low sorry! In addition, you can complete the survey here (open until...

maybe it's too early but I'm not totally blown away, many of the retailers seem kinda generic and like expansions of stuff we already have in the city but... maybe my mind will change? Don't get me wrong there are some new stuff but I'm just turned off by seeing Tokyo smoke, rogers, nail...

Just for fun, what do people speculate the vibe of MV is going to be like when complete? I predict it will be like Yorkville meets Saint Lawrence market meets Kensington market. Fashionable people and good vibes.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

What do you guys predict for the future of the Portlands? Will we get an international developer(s) like Henning-Larsen akin to their Downsview development project or individual lacklustre glass box applications?

    Toronto Arbo | ?m | 20s | CLC | Planning Partnership

I think people who are outspoken and saying what everyone else is thinking doesn't mean 'vinegar' though. Especially being a writer, I feel like he should be entitled to voicing his opinions without you calling him out for being too honest. It's not like he's yelling at city of Toronto...

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

It would have been nice to host international design competitions for the district, akin to quayside, but the province and the city are too cookie-cutter and don't care about doing something like that.

Downsview Studio Campus (Hackman, 4s, BDP Quadrangle)

Eventually one million square feet of space. As a film student that feels like 3 christmases have come at once.

But there have been countless NIMBY’s at the meetings, speaking against this at a lot of the meetings. Albeit not as deafening as 2150 lake shore

I am genuinely excited to have a grand boulevard that we can be proud of, if all of this works out. It could be a very cool place and help build our identity as a city.
