Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

All it takes is a separate hardware module and integration software to automate the Flexity Freedoms or Alstom Citadis Spirit.

    The Future of Bombardier

I'm not being hypocritical at all. Metrolinx dropped the ball on many important aspects of the project, and those failures directly resulted in delays in production of all Flexity Freedoms as contracted by Metrolinx and the Region Of Waterloo (Region of Waterloo order is an extension of the...

    The Future of Bombardier

They're already built and testing in Kingston. The biggest issue has been Metrolinx not signing for delivery over the tiniest of cosmetic deficiencies in an effort to assert that everything is Bombardier's fault.

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

Again. You cannot complete the burn-in on yard track. The burn-in must be on mainline track with all the mainline signal, communications and control systems active.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

IDK some people from BBD said Metrolinx ordered all of them with Grey as the accent colour

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

ION has advanced left turns along the route too but LRVs are given priority over car traffic. The only thing with higher priority than LRVs is emergency vehicles.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

For a significant portion of that time BBD couldn't even really do anything with them because Metrolinx refused to acknowledge that they even existed.

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

The Region of Waterloo sat for 4 years on the signalling and communications equipment requirements stated by Grandlinq and only signed a contract to install the equipment in May 2018 when the equipment requirements were to be known by 30 May 2014. They easily could have amended the vehicle...

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

You can't do that 600 km burn in on the yard track. you must do it on the mainline with all the specialized equipment activated otherwise the burn in doesn't count. so essentially without the mainline track they will be sitting idle in the yard because there's only so much testing you can do on...

    The Future of Bombardier

Bombardier has a better record than you are seeing in the media, especially on heavy rail products. that order was for 113 Multilevel III EMUs with an option for 636 Multilevel III passenger coaches. Via had a requirement for a diesel locomotive (with a sleek nose) propelled trainset with...

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

ION LRVs that have all the FIE (Free Issue Equipment) installed all have traffic signal preemption devices installed to change the traffic signals.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Cancelled due to marathon ION testing overnight.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Not freed up until December or January. The Edmonton cars are even more over-sized as they have to sit on a steel structure that is longer than the flatcar.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

CN has been notoriously late in picking up shipments from Millhaven. Some LRVs destined for Waterloo have sat for as long as 2 weeks after loading waiting for CN to pick them up.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Bombardier has had its sh!t together for a while. Grandlinq had this equipment spec'd since 2014. The Region of Waterloo however delayed the signing of this second contract until the last possible second for God only knows what reason. CN Waterloo Spur. Wasn't possible or practical given GRT's...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The 76 Metrolinx LRVs for Crosstown aren't due by the end of 2019. That due date is for the remaining TTC Streetcars... EDIT: There is also no room to store 44 completed vehicles in Thunder Bay...

Finch West and Hurontario will also be grey apparently.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

There will be no loops on Crosstown. Vehicles will always be run in 2 to 3 vehicle trains with an operator cab at each end. They'll only use the pop-up controls to couple/decouple vehicles in the yard(s)

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Hey Metrolinx is calling the shots on this. They wanted the Grey on the accents. They're getting the Grey on the accents. There's already plenty of black to align with the branding though :P
