    Toronto 16 York | 154.83m | 32s | Cadillac Fairview | a—A

    I don’t recall 25 York ever having a Starbucks.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Do you have evidence of this? I live in Toronto and the house taxes are pretty high considering the houses in Toronto generally take up less space and are usually smaller in sq ft. This is for older homes built before the 70s.

Boring - yet another Starbucks. There is one in Union and in the Longos. I guess will be the only one with street presence. I wish something more unique like Rooster opened up.

Could construction of more housing actually raise rents?

It’s really quite simple - what needs to be done is to increase investment to build up small towns on existing rail lines like Guelph, Brandtford, Hamilton, Niagara, St Catherine’s and greatly improved rail service not just to Toronto but to other areas. There should be some regional centres...

    Dead/Decaying Malls of Greater Toronto

With all the digital shopping these days malls are not needed as much. Except for the large regional malls like SQ1 and Yorkdale malls need to be redeveloped into housing with some retail in it.

I would think they would. Why is there no information about the CN derailment?

    VIA Rail

If the derailment is near Cobourg, why can’t they at least have service between Kingston and points east?

Toronto Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

I don’t think it will. The demographics and vibe isn’t there for the area. Cactus club is a post office high end place. With post COVID Hybrid mode there simply isn’t a big enough office population to sustain it there.

Reliability in service is a huge draw to itself. People value their time and getting caught in a delay ruins the experience and puts people off the train. HFR should remove most of the delay issues cause by freight train priority. I just wish they had starting building the line already instead...

    Toronto 4800 Yonge Street | 168.24m | 49s | Menkes | Arquitectonica

Wait so this will be a rental building not a condo? Interesting development. The rents will be pricey given the location.

    VIA Rail

Maybe. Everyone is missing the point that this should be viewed as a long term investment in rail infrastructure. The populations of these cities will only continue to grow and this will be worthwhile if we can get electric and higher speed rail option to connect 2/3 of the Canadian population...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Miller is wrong because he glosses over one key fact - this city cannot run a streetcar line period. They don’t offer priority signals, they don’t remove the ridiculously close stops, they don’t remove parking on streetcar routes to give it a dedicated ROW (King/Queen/Dundas/College/Bathurst)...

    VIA Rail

On VIA all we will get is some newer trains in the corridor that will run slow and steady to make a 5-6hr journey from Toronto to Montreal. That’s it.

Exactly. The people who dislike Ford don’t understand why people vote for him or abstain - the others are much worse. Trudeau is nearing the end of his tenure. By 2025 he will have to go. Pierre will win by default as it will be a change election. As much as I despise his politics , he will win...

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

The parks need to be cleaned up of these tent cities. The people who are out of shelters should be moved to shelters in other GTA cities. This is an affordability and mental health problem. We need more affordable housing but the city or province isn’t building any. New housing isn’t affordable.

Ford has done more for transit building in 4 years than the Liberals have in 15 years. Yes Line1 was extended and Eglinton and Finch were started but the rest of their plan was stalled and delayed and deferred for years. At least Ford is committed to a downtown relief line that is much better...

2022 election - who is running for mayor?

This election is a status quo. Much like 2021 federal and 2022 provincial. I predict ultra low turn out. I hope we hit a low bar so that it creates a wake up call. People just don’t care about politics right now because the game is rigged and no matter who you vote for or how it won’t change...

Does anyone know why the covered moat is closed west of the subway? It was opened after it was first covered but it has stayed closed since COVID? Also is it just me or does the moat area just outside the subway entrance smells of heavy urine. Then you go into Union terminal and it changes to...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Laziness. Why King St is still in pilot mode and not a permanent solution with bike lanes and something like Roncesvalles design.
