    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Looks like the underpass is pretty low, so overhead issues are probably why.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Does the TTC need to add another North-South non-revenue connection to Hillcrest? Is having the redundancy of a connection via Spadina for example worth it?

    Ottawa Transit Developments

Above ground on Wellington, terminating at Rideau, seems best for network connectivity. I expect that wouldn't be possible though.

    Montréal Transit Developments

I don't believe that is tram-train, it's just a dedicated ROW. It would be traim-train if the streetcar used the Lakeshore West rail corridor tracks along that route.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Lateral is definitely more important. As someone that cycles on somewhat busy suburban roads, I'm always thinking of my bail-out route if something goes wrong. Without bike lanes, I ride 0.5m off the curb to force traffic to give me a wider berth. If someone is passing too close, I have some...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Frequent Stouffville line service also factors in for anyone commuting from further east.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

You say this as if you know they aren't doing their due diligence and are designing a bad line. Have you seen the engineering design documents that backup that claim? Or do you just assume the engineers at Metrolinx don't know what they are doing?

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

A good argument for Metrolinx to operate truly as a regional transit authority is the Brampton to York services. Hwy 7-Queen, Steeles have no reason not to through run and be combined with Hwy 407 services for some express patterns.

That's why that section of the 407 transitway makes sense for when the Young North extension is built. Unionville to 407 station on line 1, providing a rapid connection between the Stoufville line, Young Line, Barrie Line, and Spadina Line.

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

I don't know, the locals wouldn't complain as much about the OL being shoved into the rail corridor if there is already a highway there.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

What are the chances Metrolinx tries to negotiate a new deal with Presto or a new provider as part of fare integration roll out. The new subway projects all seem to be designed with the assumption of fare integration, they've been tight-lipped on it, but clearly something being considered.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I'm referring to how the facilities are likely specialized. The labour is likely a mix of low-skill and high-skill depending on what they produce.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The other factor is that it is much cheaper and easier to re-locate low-density commercial than specialized industrial. There is plenty of parking lot space nearby that can be built on to provide new homes for those businesses, if you try and re-locate the industrial businesses, they are likely...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It won't happen. But I'd love for them to put a 3-4 level multi-storey lot in the dead space between Hwy 7 and Hwy 407, spanning from the East end of the bus terminal to the extension of Cedar Ave. Access to parking would be from Cedar. The hydro corridor can be used as parkland to provide...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I wonder if they've also increased the cost factor for traffic disruptions during construction. Metrolinx probably learned from crosstown that they underestimated the additional complications involved in that tunnelling process, as well as how long disruptions at street level would last. You...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

It also allows them to continue using their fairly extensive stock of carriages. I expect the final system to run a mix of Diesel Locomotive, Electric Locomotive, and EMUs.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

My uneducated guess for the 4 stub tracks TK10E, TK10W, TK13E, and TK13W is for VIA departures; and potentially other express train departures depending on the platform length. VIA arrivals can unload relatively quickly and then pull forward and back into the stub tracks as they prep and wait...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Any idea what tracks would be used for what lines through union based on those diagrams? The best I can figure is Eastbound trains for the Lakeshore lines and VIA would use TK14&5, VIA would use TK13W&13E, Westbound lakeshore and VIA would use TK11&12. Not sure about the rest.

Toronto Toronto Island Park Master Plan | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

It is rare that the lake freezes enough to fully stop ferry traffic. Demand is significantly lower in the winter, so less ferries need to run. I'm more wondering if the demand for the islands is higher than can be effectively served by water transportation. I doubt it. A few more ferry docks...
