As a Stouffville GO rider, I'm still excited about this station and the Ontario Line connection but this is a big missed opportunity design wise.

I just wish they named the trips "Stouffville-Old Elm" or something similar on the departure board to make it easier for riders. We finally got used to looking for Lincolnville (another place no one has heard of) and now it's changed again. And it's the Stouffville Line, not the Old Elm line, so...

The funny thing about this is that aside from the unlikely HFR stop here it would basically be serving the exact same purpose as the Cornell bus terminal in Markham, which is a mere 5km away.

This photo really shows how small a span is needed here. Since the last update from Metrolinx mentioned a culvert, is this some big concrete piece that is going to dropped in over the creek? This track work has been going on for so many years now...

There needs to be an interchange station north of the 401 to complement Kennedy to the south though. For STC, the McCowan LRT could also head south to STC, as could Finch East, and presumably some future STC East-West LRT could also connect with the STC subway station.

I would love to see Sheppard and McCowan as a major transit hub: Line 2 terminus Line 4 terminus EELRT/Sheppard LRT northern terminus McCowan LRT terminus (north to Centennial GO in Markham) Finch East LRT terminus (which would connect to Finch via McCowan LRT row)

It's nice to see Stouffville filling in some of the rush hour gaps as the trains are getting really packed.

This is is the perfect place for infill density in east Markham. Eventually, the VIVA rapidways are being extended east (all the way to Cornell) and Centennial GO will have 15-minute service (in the next phase of GO expansion). In the meantime there's still the existing limited service on those...

I would think more will commute to the campus via GO than VIVA, which is the only other transit available. The GO buses from Markham to the main York campus always look very busy and I would assume most students attending this campus would be from Markham and North Scarborough. I guess we'll...

Well, it's less than a year before the Markham York U campus opens next to Unionville GO with 4,200 students (plus staff), so I certainly hope this is putting a fire under Metrolinx's feet to finish the track work. If they don't return to early 2020 service levels (evening trains!) if not better...

No more press conferences until we get evening service back on the line! This is getting ridiculous.
