Wave of suicides lately. I know of two or three in just the last week. It breaks my heart.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

I've been on that ship lol. Glad it didn't sink while I was on it. Also Putin throwing a fit and bombing Kyiv as well as a bunch of other targets apparently. The guardian is also reporting this: Russia’s President Vladimir Putin may resort to using a tactical or low-yield nuclear weapon in...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Just came here to say this. Massive loss for Russia, again begs the question of how its possible they're failing this badly. Likewise the more the Russian military gets decimated, the more I fear Putin will act rashly.

    Kitchener Young Condos | 74.5m | 25s | Andrin | BDP Quadrangle

I can't believe I'm saying it but this is the nicest of the new buildings downtown currently. I wish charlie west used this treatment for the white accents it was supposed to have.

    Vaughan 2600 Steeles West | 166.5m | 53s | Zancor Homes | Rafael + Bigauskas

I actually think this is better than what's proposed here simply based on the fact that it has decent massing and isn't trying to be anything more than housing. What's proposed here is disastrous in every sense of the word.

    Toronto Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

The glass choice here really is baffling. Decent balcony glass could salvage this with ease, instead they go with the rarely used, fully transparent balcony glass. Makes zero sense.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

The use of the TB2 as a distraction by Ukraine is another genius tactical move. Ukraine seems to be saying the ship is sunk/unsalvageable, Russia is saying the fire is extinguished and the ship is being towed. Anyone here have insight on which may be more accurate?

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

As Keith said, absolutely. If NATO chose not to respond to an attack on a member then the alliance will fall apart and that's Putin's wet dream. NATO would absolutely respond and risk World War 3 because frankly the alternative is worse. Also, on the note of Hungary, the point of having a...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Because he thought his initial campaign would be quick and easy so why even call it a war. Since he's conviced his entire population it's just a special military operation he cant just suddenly turn around and say full scale war time for general mobilization. He's already reportedly been...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

I have to disagree, Russia has consistently telegraphed what they are planning to do in what they say. There was evidence of this in the lead up to the war, despite their denials that an invasion was imminent, Putin talked about genocide in Donbass, provocations by Ukraine etc before doing those...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Another note as well, I havent seen much talk about this but I've noticed a shift in Kremlin rhetoric in the last few days and I find it particularly alarming. Putin has explained this war as neccessary and justified, Peskov said it was to end US hegemony, and today Lukashenko said it was a...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Why? Because the developing world has far more to lose than gain by sanctioning. As the West has sought to end its negative colonial legacy, and scale down its influence in other countries affairs especially following their failures in the middle east, we've more or less abandoned a lot of...

    Vaughan 7Central | 175.4m | 55s | Graywood | Arcadis

I have little to no confidence in greywood to build anything that looks good. I'd much rather gupta still be involved here

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

I still think more height variation here would be nice as opposed to this current tabletop. (East Harbour could be a nice place for a supertall) but aside from that it's nice to see this going ahead.

    Toronto Grand Hotel Redevelopment | 153.95m | 49s | Amexon | Core Architects

Wasnt the original rational for the limited height here due to flight paths? So they cant possibly be getting additional height if that's the case.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I love how this has no setbacks on the main yonge bloor corner, it very nicely adds to the grandeur and size of this building and will no doubt make it feel even taller when all is said and done. Great vantage point too @Hoppysquirrel I look forward to seeing more photos from this angle!

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

The dark balcony cladding looks good. Kinda wish they had used just that.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Our house was $500,000 in 2002. It's now probably somewhere between 3.5 and 4. We have undoubtedly put work into it, but as you say value is a major issue. On paper we're multi millionaires. In reality, we're upper middle class who purchased a farm house back in a time when it wasn't actually...

215 Lake Shore East (Greenland) - Real Estate -

Greenland is simply holding on and dragging this out as long as possible in hopes they'll get a bailout that will allow them to actually build this project. They will continue to delay this until one of two things happen. They get a major cash injection (which is looking less and less likely...
