    Toronto 400 King West | 157.37m | 48s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Can anyone explain to me why renders like this exist and are created? I recognize that I'm a layman ... but they seem like an odd way to portray a building. The image itself is unflattering, and I've sure never looked up and seen a building look like that, with over-accentuated upper floors...

    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

Something about this building just isn't working. Maybe it's premature to say that, so I'll hold final judgement, but something feels off with the design ...

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

It feels like they are moving along super fast with regard to finishing-type touches on the base. Does anyone have an idea if this is because they intend to open the base before the tower is finished topping out? Is that even possible?

    Toronto Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

I 'think' the video in this is new ... sorry if I missed it being linked already. Although a spa or bathe or whatever it is wouldn't be my first choice for the commercial element, maybe they are confident it'll work. That said, I think the overall plan comes off looking ok in this video...

    Toronto 15 Charles East | 216m | 66s | Republic | Arcadis

Wonder when this will affect the Anndore and associated business' ... my barber is in there, so I'll miss that. Also, the coffee shop makes an amazing latte. Overpriced, but pretty great.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Great article. There is no need for the Gardiner. Downtown is not meant to be a zone you drive through/past. It is a destination or a starting point to enter or exit from. I live downtown. I have a car. I get frustrated like anyone else with traffic. Yet, I recognize, especially after...

    Toronto 55C: 55 Charles Condos | 167m | 50s | MOD Developments | a—A

Think I counted 49 floors so far on my way by yesterday.

    Toronto 55C: 55 Charles Condos | 167m | 50s | MOD Developments | a—A

Anyone know what the odd levels are in this image? You can see a half floor and then a floating area in the same spot ...

    730 Yonge Street (University of Toronto, ?s, ?}

Anyone seen any chatter on this site? I walk past it pretty regularly, and have seen zero new work being done in weeks or even months now. As well, work that was done appears to be falling apart and is unfinished in many places. The building is looking like a bit of a mess and I was wondering...

    Toronto Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

Nobu looks great driving into the city and adds some diversitiy to that cluster. I know it's not everyone's cut of tea, but it definitely looks much better in person, and especially from a slight distance than pictures give it credit for.

    Toronto Riverside Square | 64.6m | 20s | Streetcar | RAW Design

These things all look terrible in person. Real shame. They could have been such an anchor to the community. Now anytime I pass by, all I can think of is how cheap they appear.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I was wondering about this just the other day. Do we know the status of that whole mess? Is fruit-co still likely to go in or have they pulled out absolutely, and it's just a matter of money and lawsuits?

    Toronto 401 Bay Street | 143.86m | 33s | Cadillac Fairview | WZMH

I agree 100%. Personally, I can even live with the rest of the tower. I'm not a fan, but I don't find it as offensive as others. But the base ... omg ... the base. It looks like what you'd see on the back side of a building where they load shipping etc. They must be aware of how bad that...

    Toronto Wonder | 31.7m | 8s | Graywood | Diamond Schmitt

It's disappointing in pictures, but much worse in person.

    Toronto Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

I actually agree with @70Challenger as it relates to that photo. The building isn't living up to the renders, and there are other problems as well, but it might be a nice addition to the skyline when viewed from afar.

Toronto The Charles at Church | 152.7m | 47s | Aspen Ridge | BDP Quadrangle

Does anyone know if the stand-alone house is in its permanent location? The reason I ask is that it feels like there is overlap with the street facing facade. Not sure if it's an optical illusion from when I walked by, but seemed like the two were awkwardly positioned relative to each other ...

    Toronto 55C: 55 Charles Condos | 167m | 50s | MOD Developments | a—A

I walk past this daily and haven't noticed it in person. I see it in some of the pictures, but it's either much less visible in person or is just a photo effect.
