A few pics today. There was a broken pipe a day or so ago and it flooded this section of Harbour St. And much of the water ended up in the bottom of the excavation. Anyway crews are working on it.

Hmm, question. I observed the emptying of the north parking area of about 25 vehicles just after 8 am this morning. The guys had their lunch coolers, tools and back packs. Lingered and talked in groups of 4 or 6 in the parking lot. I thought of a lay-off, or a closure for Covid. Other scrums at...

A couple from my side. In the red bubble is an area where the concrete appears suspended. And the shale looks undercut back into the side. There was a group of men there discussing something close to this area. Not sure what they were talking about but likely next steps. I also looked for...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Let my clarify my earlier comment. If infill on existing lots <15 ft wide between lot lines then I think the following model has merit. Ground level, street entrance, foyer, closets, rear entry from single car garage. 2nd level, rear dining, rear deck, center kitchen w/island, front living...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I think 13-15 ft wide and 3 floors over a single car garage, and front entrance is a good model. With decks front and back or on top. Fills in a lot of old stock row houses from 100-120 years ago in TO, that are due for transformation.

Are they saving any of those trees? I thought some of them were to remain and only the ones in poor condition are being cut back. I think I found the answer below, As part of this work, a total of 7 trees will be removed. A separate special notice will be issued in advance of tree removals...

I like historical references and reverence of the past, but not every old building has meaning or value. I kind of like new and old together if complementary, a growth of the new over and out of the past is an interesting metaphor. But contrasts too are interesting. I think architectural...

There needs to be reverence to the history that established the area, the time, the importance to the growth of the city to where we are now.
