I have a view of this building from my apartment, and it’s been at least 2 weeks since I’ve seen any activity on this site. Has the developer run into problems?

    Toronto Union Centre | 298m | 54s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group

Maybe not. 151 Front has always seemed to be at or near capacity as a data centre. To expand it would likely require significant investment (space conditioning, power, additional cooling, network, etc). The payback on that takes a while, even if/when AI applications drive demand for it. That...

In addition to being much larger, London has been continuously occupied for over 2,000 years. Not even a remotely comparable situation.

Yes, that’s why time machines also have to be spaceships. If your time machine were located on one of those higher floors and you were to travel back to 2018, you’d fall to the ground!

First they need to deface it with randomly applied orange spray paint, and THEN six months later they’ll start with the utility cuts and asphalt.

Amazing that even with that error it took CNN - a foreign news network - to finally get a coherent story out.

Oh don’t worry, I’m sure Toronto Hydro or Enbridge will be by soon to first randomly spraypaint the sidewalk and concrete, then let it sit for six months, before returning to cut and excavate and cover over with asphalt. 🙄

I know this is irrational but I’m uncomfortable with how much this currently resembles the Bay-Adelaide Centre stump from the 1990s.

I would also say that an airport hotel strip without strip clubs isn’t an airport hotel strip.

What do you expect? It’s Camrost-Felchcorp. They’ll still be affixing missing spandrel a decade from now.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I still can’t get over how thin this building is going to be. For comparison, 432 Park Ave (which is 425m tall) has a floor plate of 28m x 28m. So while The One isn’t quite as thin or as tall it will stand out as a very skinny building, especially compared to its neighbour across the street...
