I would absolutely use separated bike lanes on Kipling if they connected to a safe cycling route on the Queensway. Being able to bike to IKEA would be amazing! Also that godforsaken Purolator depot.

I think "dingy" is overselling it, and while I love the Paradise, I wouldn't want its fully modern interior transplanted to the Revue. I wouldn't say no to some improvements to the seating and bathrooms, but leave the rest as is. As for the exterior,

Either Bradford secretly supports cycling and wants better infrastructure but wants to be seen as someone who's anti-cycling, or he's legitimately done a full 180 and agrees with Holiday that we should rip out bike lanes. The former is cynical and dishonest, the latter is stupid and dangerous...

Seems like this would turn basically every "major street" into an Avenue (which is great, don't get me wrong!). Assuming this gets approved, what was the point of going through the major streets study?

Do you seriously think bylaw officers ticketing people living in tents in a park would solve anything? Bradford's hard-right turn has taken him into the bizarre role (as a cyclist himself) of cycling skeptic. He's basically a mini-Holyday now. He voted for all of Holyday's anti-cycling motions...

I disagree in general with your take, but also on this specific point, are you aware that the city has a green roof bylaw? Any building over 2000m2 is required to have a green roof. There's nothing special about the roof here except that it's more visible than usual because of the curve.

I've ridden a similar style of bike lane in the Netherlands and it worked well, but drivers there tend to be much more deferential to people on bikes and this only really works if a) it's a low-traffic street and b) drivers yield properly. I also saw a similar design in Victoria when I visited...
