That canoe-eye video was great! I want to go canoeing on that river, and I don't even like canoeing!!

I thought the Globe article was fine. It covered all of the bases, and there were a few things I could quibble with but they were overall minor. I will say that the article's writing has a high level of annoyance with Toronto as a whole that makes it less enjoyable to read. But I suspect that...

    Toronto TOOR Hotel / The 203 Residences on Jarvis | 108.2m | 32s | Manga | Arcadis

One of my least favourite ways to critique Toronto's aesthetics is to say, "My out-of-towner friend/relative thinks Toronto is ugly." As Torontonians, we spend too much time weighing and considering the opinions of out-of-towners, and often scourging ourselves with their opinions. It always...

The real question for mmmuffins was: do you pronounce the “mmm” at the beginning, or do you just say “muffins!” If you do say the “mmm,” how long a “mmm” is sufficient? Do you really need to draw it out? This was a very important question for me as a teen at the mall in the 90s.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

They called it "Ontario Line" so that people outside of Toronto wouldn't get upset about billions of their tax dollars going to construction in the city. I think it's one of the smartest things Doug Ford has ever done. Claim it's for Ontario and people will support it politically. If calling it...

It is not going to be the Well 2.0 because it's not as large and ambitious a project as the Well. But both are designed by HPA, which is why they have similar vibes.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I used to live next to the train tracks on Noble Street, and the trains were largely unnoticeable if the windows were closed. If they were open, however - some mornings I'd be awakened by the first Go Train at 5:24 whatever, and from the grogginess of sleep, it would feel like the train was...

Hey @Dirt Scratcher - thanks for your incredible work! I think everyone on the forum is always impressed and amazed with the work that the construction crews do in these projects. Kudos!

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

If they really want to commemorate our history, they should call it “World’s Biggest Jeans Store Square.”

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The TTC is planning on having operational funding for the Eglinton LRT in the fall, but this is just a budgetary exercise. If the Eglinton LRT doesn't open, they have magic extra money. I imagine that their decision is based upon not much more information than we have.

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

So, I wonder if here is where we can discuss this: https://www.toronto.ca/news/toronto-city-council-approves-sankofa-square-as-new-name-for-yonge-dundas-square-and-initiates-plans-to-rename-other-city-assets-that-include-the-name-dundas/ I'm of course hoping that they just rename the TTC...

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

My two cents: * The reason behind this renaming seems beyond silly. Either Dundas is bad or it's not - rename the whole thing or don't. (It's clearly a face-saving gesture by city council to make up for the fact that they went too gung-ho for renaming Dundas.) * Yonge-Dundas Square should have...

Toronto Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

When I was scrolling through, I passed this photo and thought, "Oh, nice photo of New York - " NYC is not the be-all and end-all, but it's nice to see a street type in Toronto that is more common there: mid-rise, dense buildings on either side of wide sidewalks.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

These hyper-specific complaints about shelters are always a little strange for me. As someone who travels a lot on the TTC (it can take me up to an hour and a half to commute to work on the TTC), these shelters seem absolutely fine. I have no expectation that I will be protected at a TTC stop...

Folks, we are not an investigative journalism outfit. We are a bunch of nerds who like to watch buildings go up. If you have created an account because you want to talk about exactly what is going on in Mizrahi's outfit, start a subreddit. The ONLY thing people on here really care about is the...
