Interest rates to start rising? Clearly someone agrees with me:

my guess is that interest rates will drop down at least once more before the end of summer.

that was the first time I've experienced a thunderstorm since moving downtown, and it was the loudest I've ever heard. Is it always that loud?

Empress Condos (Menkes) - Real Estate -

When I was moving into and out of The Richmond, I paid $100 personal cheque deposit only, which was refunded after inspection. The concierge hung the mats up for me, and cleaned up everything after we were finished. They also allowed you to move in until 8pm, but even that, the concierge said...

West One Condos (Concord CityPlace) - Real Estate -

I have a question, did you guys wait until the door was completely opened and stopped before proceeding through? I know, it shouldn't make a difference, but I know at my building, I'm always too impatient to wait, so as the door is still opening, I'll squeeze under it.

I wonder how much CP's appeal would change if the Gardner is removed.

    CityPlace Condos

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._James_Town Based on the wikipedia article on SJT, there really only appear to be a few similarities in the two developments. They both consist of 20 buildings, they were both marketed toward young people and the surrounding amenities are lacking. According...

    CityPlace Condos

I ended up purchasing a place which is now approaching closing. I must admit, I am getting nervous after hearing complaints, but I think at the end of the day, it seems like it's a great place to live. I'm just concerned about resale values 4-5 years from now, but even that, the location is...

    Status Certificate

So are you saying that in all POS's for condo units, the back dated condo fees are always paid by the purchaser since the banks don't pay them?

    Status Certificate

thanks for all your advice guys. Not to push further on this, but to let you know, we negotiated to almost $20k below asking on a top floor, unobstructed city view unit, within the first 2 weeks of the unit being listed. I'm just afraid that the sellers may at this point have sellers remorse...

    Status Certificate

Thanks. The main issue I'm having is that I just heard about status certificates yesterday, and everything has already been signed except for one final clause regarding financing, which gives us until today. So should I just sign today's final agreement, saying financing has been completed, or...

    Status Certificate

I'm in the process of purchasing a power of sale unit at Cityplace, and in negotiating, many of the conditions were removed in the interest of a lower price. At the same time, I was not aware, until after consulting with a lawyer, that a status certificate is normally requested from the seller...

Exiting a purchase while still within first 10 days

Ok, some of the reasons we wanted to go new are first the fact that if we purchased now for something that we want in 3-4 years, it would be significantly cheaper to purchase ahead of time, without having to worry about a mortgage until closing. Another reason is, as you guys mentioned, I...

Exiting a purchase while still within first 10 days

Ok, so I called them to let them know I'd be cancelling, and they asked what unit I purchased and all that. Then she said, no problem, they'll take that unit back without question. That particular unit has gone up $13,000, and the sales aren't even open to the public yet. She then told me a...

thanks for the tips. The project is Charlie :( ... I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, the only unit I was able to get was one that was out of budget.

    Toronto's condo market booms

A little off topic, but for someone who's currently a renter and looking to purchase as a primary residence, would there be much of a benefit in waiting for the market to drop before buying? Wouldn't any savings made from lower prices be offset by lost equity going to rent payments instead?
