The article references soaker tubes in the bathroom. Sounds futuristic! (and very, very uncomfortable).

I haven't seen the building close-up but am amazed at how large it looks at a distance relative to other buildings in the vicinity (photo taken from my balcony).

    415 Jarvis - opinions?

I rented a small second bedroom in a unit here for approximately 3 months in 2008 from an owner who'd been in the unit for a number of years. I know she had noise issues from time to time with an adjoining unit, which might speak to the original construction and build quality (she really likes...

Here's a link to the aforementioned balcony decking thread: At post #26 on this page you'll see a before and after photo that I took, including furniture. I leave the small table and chairs out year 'round, the set was...

I recall an Adam Vaughan community meeting way back when about this site, he mentioned the owner of the Corned Beef House building had no intention of selling for sentimental reasons. Seems the owner had a change of heart (I saw a sign on site just before demolition that they're moving east to...

    Condo Balcony - Decking

After a good deal of research I ended up deciding on Ipe (Brazilian Walnut) tiles from a company in BC. They were relatively expensive ($13/sf including shipping) but a great deal cheaper than a custom deck and I'm really happy with the results. I laid them in an alternating pattern and used a...

^ thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! I've decided I'm definitely going to do something with the balcony, now just trying to decide between strips or tiles.

    Condo Balcony - Decking

Hello All, I saw a recent MLS listing that showed a photo of the outdoor patio with some sort of decking installed. I liked the look of it and am wondering if something similar might improve the look of my 135 square foot balcony. Just wondering if anyone has seen or installed something...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

It is pretty tight, would have been nice to have a bit more space there but mechanicals are built into the wall near the bottom (heating/cooling panel) and at the top (air ducts) and there's no real practical way to alter it.

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

My first condo (Bay Street, mid 1990's) was 513 square feet, standard (8 foot) ceilings, and no balcony. It sold (locker, no parking) in a week for full price when I put it on the market in 2001. My new place (565 square feet) is only approximately 50 square feet bigger but the layout, high...
