    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yep, as crs1026 points out, the ION is really quite different from the ELRT, being really a tram-train with significant street running throughout the cities, many esoteric types of intersections and switches in which side of the road it's running in, and where many of the accidents happen with...

    GO Transit Midtown Corridor

Do we really need to go through CP North Toronto? It just dumps people on Line 1 north of Bloor and it parallels Bloor through the city. Couldn't the CP mainline on the east side of the city (Leaside and east) interline with Milton through the Don Branch?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

    1. The track geometry is horrid. I took the RHill line once a few months ago. Richmond Hill, despite seeming like a close-in suburb of Toronto, takes longer to get to Union than from 15km to the north in Aurora, as well as other seemingly remote suburbs like Georgetown. The thing just screeches...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I was going to write a long comment, but I'll just say that 1. there's a very common trend of people online declaring that their city or their country is somehow so unique that they are an exception to something which works in the rest of the developed world, and that 2. I think it's a coping...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I was on an earlier 25C that day (around 4pm) and they let on like 4-5 standers and had to call another bus as well. It's been chronically overcrowded for the past semester, but I assume GO doesn't want to spare the operators unless they have to.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Yeah, I took a 25, after the term was over, at 9pm from Sq1 to the University, on a Sunday, and it was absolutely full. Pretty sure they sent another bus. Anyway, they really need the Thursday/Friday/Sunday express busses back.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

It is a bit wasteful, but no doubt having the LRT properly connect to GO is a significant advantage for riders.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm not 100% sure about the service right now since it's not on the online schedule, but the old schedules had a LOT more service on Fridays on account of students return to the GTA on weekends, including express-to-SQ1 and a 407 trip; I assume they moved the 407 trip to the 30 since they...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Yeah, this was pretty obvious, given that the "post-electrification" map of services has those trains as diesel still, and battery trains over that section were probably never seriously considered. The situation with CN on their mainline will probably remain unresolved until the province/feds...

Unvaccinated staff from Alstom I guess. Can't really blame them for those.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Biden's commute would be like one from Barrie or Kitchener; about two hours each way, which plenty of people do. Is anyone seriously spending 8 hours a day to and from Toronto on a habitual basis?

407 Rail Freight Bypass/The Missing Link

As mentioned in the GO Construction thread, both the federal and provincial governments seem to be gesturing towards direct capacity improvements to the Milton corridor. I also recall Mx CEO Verster also indicating that he did not believe that the Missing Link was necessary, and today's...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Something about all day two way GO service! Until the stream cut off again. Edit: The stream is finally upright. Minister Alghebra through Transport Canada offers up to 50% funding for capacity enhancement (third/quad tracking?) on the Milton Line for the purpose of 2WAD Milton line service...
