    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Propping up the value of the Mizrahi brand for future projects isn't a concern of the creditors: they'll deliver to the letter of the purchase agreement.

    Toronto Eastern Avenue Transit-Oriented Community | 44.4m | 11s | Infrastructure ON | SvN

No, though keep in mind there are several years between a housing start and occupancy. Most 2023 starts won't construction to reducing demand until at least 2027. Since it's fiddly to get there (pick Toronto CSD, Annual...

I've seen several games in the Skydome, but haven't watched any (live or televised) since the player strike. So I guess I strongly agree.

I wish housing starts included housing demolitions (net housing starts, not gross). I know it's intended to show economic contribution but I'm much more interested in how the total count of each type changes. Stats Canada tracks demolitions but IIRC it's a paid report.

    Hamilton International Airport

There are a number of additional fees if they land in Canada (like NavCan and security) which don't appear if their customer drives to a USA airport. USA discount airlines would lose most of the price advantage over an Air Canada or WestJet basic economy price by landing in Hamilton. Many fees...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 344.9m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

There are lots of ways to measure a building. The highest occupied floor is 287.1m but Urban Toronto typically measures to the top of the mechanical/roof which is 298.1m. The tip of the antennae is 355m. All of these are measured from lowest public entrance from outdoors. Due to slope of the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

GTA housing construction costs increased by over 40% between 2020 and 2023. Nowhere else in Canada had construction inflation like that; even elsewhere in Ontario was only about 20% cost increase during that period. I believe the huge number of transit tenders contributed quite a bit. Doubling...

You stole my joke! But yeah, there are clearly a small number of safe colours.

CTBUH measures height from the lowest public entrance to the tallest point: they give it a measurement of 300.2m. For comparing heights to buildings in other cities this is the most consistent measurement provided.

    Toronto Harbour Ferries

Good question. The original timeline expected to have a contract awarded by now.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Looks like Aecon is starting to hire for the OnCorr work. Commercial Director - GO Rail Expansion (RER) Cost Control Manager - GO Rail Expansion (RER) Surveyor Procurement Coordinator and a whole bunch more:

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Do we have access to the Initial Business Case mentioned in this letter? I can't seem to find it. We don't know the year those dollars are in. Perhaps it is a far future estimate, with a construction start after GO Expansion is largely complete? Regarding land: I'd hope at that price it...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

It can both be extended and have additional cars BUT they would need to buy the "Pinched Loop" modules which allows the car to be unlinked from the cable at stops and crossover points, and an additional rope & power station. It's not a cheap upgrade but it is available. The Oakland airport...

    Toronto Toronto Coach Terminal Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | CreateTO

We could charge a land-improvement tax to everyone in the corridor and use those funds to build a 250m tall hospital helicopter platform giving nearly everyone within the corridor the ability to build a supertall. I very much doubt if land owners would take that offer. Most will find their 150m+...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

It seems to be up to fare enforcement of the specific agency you're riding. TTC explicitly states it only needs to be within the 2 hour window when you tapped:

    Railway crossing bridge IIRC.

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

An interesting and large (180 trains) SNCF tender is underway. Seems relevant to GOs future options for non-electrified corridors. Despite the mix of technologies, 180 trains doesn't feel like an experimental order.
