    Brampton Transit/Zum

Some slides from the Brampton Transit presentation the other day. The 504 can't come fast enough.

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

No, there have been a few road crossings that have been removed for other work (ex., Mayfield Rd) but apart from that the line remains mostly intact, at least on the northern end of Brampton and into Caledon.

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Awesome to see. A few of the curbs on the multi-use path are really rough to go over, and could use some redoing, the one at Nelson Mandela school is particularly bad. I hope they also remove the slip lanes along Ching, been almost hit a few times at Ching and Bovaird.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The bus platforms at Guelph Central GO are being updated right now with replaced shelters. The deferred works mainly involve the bus terminal to be built at Guelph Central, along with a new Ped bridge north of downtown, and a few other smaller projects. I believe these were to be solely funded...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Yellow tactile strips being installed at Guelph Central today. Lights underneath the canopy also on and working. They appeared to be working on the doors for the shelters as well.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I really hope these trains are packed and Metrolinx sees how much demand there would be for weekend service all the way to Kitchener.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Am I correct in thinking they won't build a second platform until they perform grade separations at Acton? As the train currently blocks the road on both sides when stopping at the station.

    Brampton Transit/Zum

At least Caledon has been putting in bike and bus lanes in their new road expansions on the north side of Mayfield

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Great to see. Would love to see Ching Zum by next year, it's unfortunate it looks like Bramalea won't be until late 2025 at the earliest. Same with the extension of Zum main to Mayfield. Either way, glad to see plans for service increases overall while systems like the TTC are cutting back.

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

That was my understanding as well. I am not super familiar with how fare zones operate else where, but I'm assuming the fare would be calculated based on the shortest zone path between where you tap on and tap off. A trip from Bramalea to Union would go Brampton -> Outer To -> Central To.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

IMO even with the giant parking garage at Bramalea, Brampton has done the best job by far in the GTHA at servicing GO stations with transit, and it really is unfortunate electrification is only planned to go to Bramalea when there is already big ridership at the other stations, and further TOD...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Once the second platform is completed at Guelph, can we expect additional trains during off-peak hours immediately, or is there more work to be done before service ramps up?

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Once the HuLRT is complete, I assume the 2/502 will stop going to square one, and stop at Steeles? I'd also assume these extra Zum busses would be used for Ching and Bramalea Zum services. Would've been nice to see Dixie Zum and extension of the 502 up to Mayfield, but still good to see more...

    GO studies Bolton rail service

I don't know about the 427, but I don't see a way the 410 gets extended for the foreseeable future. Hwy 10 serves as the highway extension, and many regularly drive 100+ km/h the entire way. Support for the extension would be even less than the 413, which is already unpopular in the local area.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I don't know the exact date due to the holidays, but the new accessibility platform is also complete on the existing platform at Guelph, and the south half of the platform is closed for construction. Is the new platform going to have the heating/snow-removal system? Progress at Guelph central...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Not sure how much OL will relieve from Kitchener and Barrie. since there is no interchange directly between the two. You'd have to get off at Bloor/Bloor -Lansdowne, then go Line 2 -> Line 1 -> OL to exhibition. OL will do a much better job for relief from people already in TO, or taking line 1 in.
