Good to hear. I don't feel like I can ever picture that bridge without some construction on or around it in the last 20 years. :D

Was down there early this morning and got to see the Cherry Street Strauss Trunnion Bascule Bridge lift all the way up. Very impressive. Fun fact, bridge was designed by the same dude that designed the Golden Gate Bridge!!

Nice they set up that platform for the public. Has anyone tried to live in it yet, or is it still in decent shape?

Still irreparably flawed. Public space should not be private.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but it looks like those super columns eat up a tremendous amount of interior floor space. Looks like the building is mostly structure without a lot of living space in some of those photos. Weird.

Another big concrete spill on Eglinton Eastbound just east of Don Mills. What's going on with all these concrete spills all of a sudden???

Not sure if related or not, but there seem to be 3 big concrete 'spills' on the southbound DVP these past few days. Brushed onto the shoulder where the hardened concrete piles still remain and concrete smeared across all lanes in certain locations. Concrete trucks overfilled? Leaves a rather...

It's a BlogTO article so it's borderline useless, but amusing read nonetheless. https://www.blogto.com/real-estate-toronto/2023/07/new-area-toronto-built-out-towers/ Love that they say the rivers won't flow until 2025. Hehe.

Ha. Sorry about that. It's 6 years older than me. Wasn't this the bridge stuck in the up position a few years back?

Once the bridge is removed it looks like Old Cherry Street will end at Villiers on the north end and Commissioners on the south end. Hopefully they'll rename it. Old Cherry right next to Cherry is a bit goofy.

That lift bridge is almost semi-historic it has been around so long. Will be almost as weird seeing it gone as seeing Captain John's finally gone.

Why not sooner? Just pave it. It's not like it need magic pixie dust or something. It's just a road.

Just pave it and open it up already. I feel like every construction project in this city takes about 3 months longer than necessary.

Excellent! Because if there's anything Lake Shore Westbound needs it's more traffic heading towards the Gardiner on ramp at Jarvis! Ha. Am I doing Urban Toronto right?
