    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Ok well this is just a nice hq 4K video of the SRT, enjoy! Also I find it very interesting that the TTC doesn't run trains overnight to clear snow and warm the tracks, is there a reason for this? (It's something Vancouver does)

And to follow that up Threw my hat into the ring on the Scarborough Subway Extension because why not :P

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Our latest video is on the TTCs *secret* 76th station, Queens Quay! Every time I go here I'm reminded how poorly we optimize things . . . Enjoy and consider liking and subscribing!

    GO Transit Electrification (Metrolinx, Proposed)

Bullseye. False . . . Caltrain is getting something that would be perfect for us. So is New Jersey transit (and its even made by Bombardier.) At this point battery is hardly better than Hydrogen, show me a case where battery trains are deployed running a frequent every 15 minute service with...

Montreal to have the largest Subway system in Canada?

A few interesting things: 1. Didn't realize they were converting the OMSF on the DM Line to use with the REM, that makes sense and makes this really feel like more of a network and less a single line since it will have 2 decent OMSF's from day 1. 2. The extensions will probably happen quickly...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Once again spreading FUD. Yes the operational budget is going down, but rail service is INCREASING. Especially with the RER contracts coming they could certainly prioritize a vendor who uses a Bombardier EMU design or a hybrid design like what NJT is getting . . .

    GO Transit Electrification (Metrolinx, Proposed)

Frankly Hydrail is not a real option, given this thing needs to be fully up and running in just a few years there simply are not the class and size of trains that we need to operate the services GO has. Yes they have some small European Regional train models running on H2, its not the same scale.

    Metrolinx: Finch West LRT

I have posted this more than once before but I suppose it bears repeating, this crappy low floor design is only like this because of 100% low floor. The Siemens S70 used in Portland and soon Seattle (among many others) is 70% low floor and arguably the entire low floor section is actually...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Thats true, though thats because as I assumed all the construction was happening at night. I'd also say 70-80% of the corridor doesn't have double track yet so a lot of trackwork is left.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Yes The bus displays (the LCD ones) are meant to be getting a redesign (they aren't that widely deployed yet). That should hopefully make them actually useful compared to right now.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Going to follow this up because I'm ignorant to it, can they really offer weekend service on Stouffville when there is so much construction ongoing?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This is all super good info, may I ask your source? Assuming you know someone at Metrolinx? So you're suggesting the Stouffville Line would see additional evening service on weekdays but, no weekend service correct?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

We made a new video on Islington station: Old and nostalgic with little quirks like the old bus terminal and the train signal exposed on the platform. Love seeing the history behind it but it would be nicer if it was upgraded!

    Metrolinx: Finch West LRT

Afaik the number of road lanes on the vast majority of the new Toronto LRTs is maintained. Nonetheless, its the same as King Street, the buses are carrying a massive number of people and a dedicated lane makes sense. | EOD don't see this project making anyones commute significantly worse...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Given from the Town Hall and Recent Board Meeting we are supposed to see a 15% train service increase in September I'm curious to hear what people think that will be? 1) Don't think Barrie can see significantly more service than it has now without more double tracking done. 2) Stouffville...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The entire route was carrying less than one busload in the morning.
