    Toronto | 155 Antibes | 111.4m | 34s | Tenblock | BDP Quadrangle

Agree. This area would benefit from more walkable retail and other amenities. Some refreshing of the area along this stretch would help to improve the bleakness of the streetscape. Widen the sidewalks on Bathurst, too -- there are many pedestrians with strollers and pull carts competing for space.

The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

Firehouse actually makes decent subs. Their portions are far more generous than what you get at Subway, and everything always tasted fresh. WIth Timmies/RBI at the helm, I expect the inevitable decline of quality accompanied by a rise in prices, i.e. their standard business modus operandi. RIP...

    Toronto | Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

Wow. Bring your wallets... I really like the look of this building and the floorplans look decent. But egads -- that's a serious chunk of change.

Toronto Centre & York Centre Byelections, 2020

I literally just got his brochure -- all about comparing Libs vs. Cons on matters of...Israel. Nothing about our riding or local issues. Not a single word. We aren't Jewish. I don't know why Tiangson thinks we are losing sleep over Israel. What about the concerns and needs of OUR RIDING, right...

Toronto Centre & York Centre Byelections, 2020

York Centre checking in. Michael Levitt always seemed more interested in Jewish issues, so it's not surprising that he accepted a position with the Wiesenthal Centre. But we had literally just voted him into office. It sucks that we apparently wasted our vote on someone who really had no...

    Toronto | Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

IMO, this was a huge missed opportunity. That would have provided a bit more of a spark to the YSC mall, and they would easily have picked up more customers due to subway and grocery (Whole Foods, Longos) activity. It's too bad the new LCBO chose (or was contractually bound) to locate across...

I like the look of Pivot -- anyone have an idea what the sq/ft sizes for the 2-3 bedrooms will be? I assume very small, but just curious as details and floorplans are slow to emerge.

Damn it. That sucks. Surprised that I didn't see an announcement or anything, as I would have been on their email list. Thanks for the info.

Is the Active Green + Ross still open, or is it closed due to the construction? Got some tires there, they are good people.

I think that was a misfire on the LCBO's part -- they bet on the wrong horse (for whatever reason -- maybe it made sense at the time) and now they are stuck in Emerald Park. Would have been great if they had set up shop in that large space across from the Longos at Sheppard Centre. Wouldn't...

Do you think Steeles, Finch, Sheppard, etc. will urbanize beyond Yonge?

I guess I'm thinking more about future development and improvements. For example, it is easy to see why an area like Yonge and Sheppard would see an influx of new development and interest. Perhaps many people buying there wanted to be south of the 401, but prices pushed them further north...

Do you think Steeles, Finch, Sheppard, etc. will urbanize beyond Yonge?

At one time (I'm told), the stretch of Yonge from Sheppard to Steeles was predominately suburban, with boring shopping plazas and seas of parking lots. There wasn't much of interest to coax urbanites to visit (or live) despite being along the subway line. Then came amalgamation and years of...

What happens when condo building is getting too old?

Our building is around 40 years old, and we bought in anyway. Like idiots, lol. Yes, our fees are high, but are all-inclusive. We even have a full VIP cable package, which we could personally do without, but it's nice to have. As renters, we'd been in small, medium, and larger units, and spent...

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

Indigo...Tower Records. These were all long gone by the time I hit the scene. Aside from the Loblaws, this mall was always kind of slim pickings for interesting (or useful) retail. Now that Best Buy is gone, the only place I'll ever visit in here is the LCBO.

    Toronto | Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

I was one of the biggest Whole Foods boosters when it first opened. But over the past several months, its lustre has dimmed for us. I've had a hard time getting things I've never had issues with getting before, and the general state of their meats and vegetables is not as great as it was when...

It would also be great if you could get into Blaze from the mall. Not sure about the other places, but I think both Five Guys and Blaze are only accessible from outside. I had high hopes for the reno and refresh of this mall, but it seems there is very little to draw people in, and even less to...

    Toronto | Promenade Mall Revitalization | ?m | 35s | Liberty Development | WZMH

Surprised that McDonald's has bailed -- people were often lined up for 30-45 mins due to their lack of adequate size/cash registers. If anything, I assumed they were going to expand into the previous Tims spot after they vacated for their new spot, due to the obvious customer demand. So that...

    Toronto | Fairview Mall Redevelopment Phase 1 | 197.4m | 58s | Cadillac Fairview | Hariri Pontarini

I think there is some retail "parked" in that space right now. Looks like one of those generic dumping ground chains that offer low-quality clothing primarily marketed to teens. Unfortunately, they make you walk through it when you enter the mall from the subway.

    Emerald Park Condos | 129m | 40s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

Love the store -- great selection and friendly staff. But see lots of people wondering how to get into EP from Yonge. And one or both escalators always seems to be down or switched off lately.

    Westminster-Branson

No, it's a real neighbourhood -- and I would be surprised if many (if any) tourists seek it out. :) https://www.toronto.com/community-static/4536998-westminster-branson/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster%E2%80%93Branson
