    Why can't designers of bridges and stations draw in a simple staircase to augment their 500 foot sloped walkways? There seems to be a professional code, in the same way that architects only wear black turtlenecks and design buildings that resemble black turtlenecks.

    That's only partly true. The Relief plan stations would have had exits directly to York and Bay, hooking into PATH, so that the exits at Yonge and University would be less congested. The OL plan will likely see more people transferring as a result because they are further from destinations...

    Here's why. We can't keep tearing down massive, publicly funded concrete structures after 10% of their lifespan for the sake of fashion. Because money, because climate change. Same nonsense as the Scarborough Subway boondoggle.

    I think an elevated people mover, monorail, or gondola system between Exhibition and Ontario Place would not only serve the transportation need, but also be a fun experience. Not sure it would be economically viable though. A spur of the Bathurst line would make sense.

    There is no case for covering the bridge over the Don River Valley. Unless we are going to cover the road bridge as well. Transit riders (on emission-free vehicles) deserve to enjoy the view on their commute more than individual drivers. The same twisted logic led to burying the lrt in Ottawa...

    Actually in that presentation the alignment is in the wrong place on nearly every slide, often in places it was never imagined. Is this the product of someone day drinking in their pajamas? I could have drawn a more accurate diagram from memory here on the other side of the world.

    Most of the Bloor Danforth Subway was not rebuilt over. Just look at Google Earth. It's mostly streets, lanes, parking and parkettes, with some commercial buildings but few houses.

    That post drum linked is unclear. Is this a tunnel through the railway embankment, or some kind of tunnel under Lakeshore that we haven't heard of before? And why at a place "where these two iconic waterfront transit streets meet" and huge density is planned is there no OL station?
