So how does CN access their Windsor trackage? Via the Chatham Sub?

    VIA Rail

I thought VIA owns that track from Windsor station to Chatham station? The part they don't own is from Chatham to London. But some of that is already double tracked.

    VIA Rail

The Chatham Sub is owned by VIA and was formerly double tracked. There are some passing sidings between Chatham and London. You could easily double track the whole corridor through there. Some of those unmarked crossings would need to be upgraded.

No. So forward facing until it gets close to Halifax with locomotives infront with baggage car trailing. Backs the train into Halifax so now the baggage car is at the opposite end of the locomotives. So it goes to Montreal this way? There are no new trains for the ocean, yet.

    VIA Rail

So on the way back to Montreal the baggage car is at the back of the train?

Not that traffic between Scarborough and Oshawa is any better but there are ways around it. I guess you could take a detour on the QEW through Hamilton, but I don't think that's any better in the west end.

I thought that the construction on the underpass already started.

To highlight the need for more northern service, I drove from Toronto to Kitchener and back today on the 401 and there was an issue at Trafalgar resulting in a detour which took an extra 20 minutes on top of the extra 20 minutes it took to get from Winston Churchill to about Dixie. It's...

Even if CN's position would change on Upgrading the Kingston SUB, we would need to enact legislation mandating they they guarantee ontime performance on that line and failure to do so would result in $X per minute of delays over an X period. Plus the amount paid to upgrade the corridor would...

    General railway discussions

We have some double deckers in storage that they could use for this route. Just need to create bus stops and build a terminal in Collingwood. The old bus station in owensound should still be in good condition. Presto readers would need to be installed along the route where there are bus stops.

Which makes no sense. GO transit should pickup the route that Greyhound had but from Barrie. With hourly trips is a good start, first bus to meet the first bus from Barrie and the last one with a connection to the last bus to Barrie from Toronto.

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/norfolk-southern-launches-expedited-less-than-carload-service/ Here is something they could adopt to save their railway by partnering with a trucking company. Too bad there is no vision.

They had two trips per day in each direction from Barrie to Owen sound. The LINX bus is hourly but is really slow

For Collingwood and Wasaga Beach there needs to be a half hour bus service to Barrie GO with Semi Express to Toronto. Stops at Aurora and maybe Weston GO. Thats a start.
