The other guys are assholes, so it's okay that we a dicks.
More like the other guys started it, and they're just following suit...

...on the bright side though, the Dems decided to grow a spine beyond just sending the other guys a strongly worded letter.

...it should be pointed out that California and Virginia put this to a vote. So it's clearly something voters wanted. When the Rethuglicans first did this in Texas at the behest of Trump, there was no vote. They knew they where likely to lose seats and did it anyways against the will of the people.

Personally, I would prefer if there was any redistricting needed it should done based on population and not on who votes what where. But the American people do not live in that just society...so they have to do what the other guys do or the representation they do have will be redrawn away. And yes, it cuts both ways. So here we are today.

If you have a first-past-the-post voting system with districts/ridings, redistricting is unavoidable specifically for population purposes. Gerrymandering does, in fact, take population changes into account. Gerrymandering just gets creative with how they draw district borders to get to the population target for the district. Very creative, in some cases:

If only humans ever invented a voting system that didn't need to have district borders at all. Like a system where if a party gets 12% of the vote, they get 12% of the seats... Alas, we probably don't have any examples of that around the world...

I watched the video. He was definitely nodding off but he wasn’t that slumped over. It has been altered. The truth is bad enough, no need to embellish it.
Also, he's a rapist who's shredding the constitution daily and destroying the global economy in the name of his personal pride. That's far more important than (as someone else put it), an "80-year-old man doing old man stuff".

Trump’s Justice Department is bringing back firing squads for federal executions

The Justice Department announced Friday it is continuing to clear the way for expediting federal death-penalty cases, including by expanding the manners of execution to include death by firing squad.

Under President Joe Biden, the Justice Department reversed much of the work done under President Donald Trump’s first administration related to expanding the death penalty in federal cases, which the Justice Department has been peeling back.

“Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration,” the Justice Department said in a release Friday, “expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases.”

Five states allow for death by firing squad for those convicted of the death penalty who have exhausted the appeal process. In March, a South Carolina man convicted of a double murder became the fourth person to be put to death by a firing squad since the 1970s.

A death sentence is often followed by years and years of appeals and other legal processes before an execution is carried out. In state cases, people sentenced to death can sometimes elect how they want to die, with lethal injection often the default method.

“The prior administration failed in its duty to protect the American people by refusing to pursue and carry out the ultimate punishment against the most dangerous criminals, including terrorists, child murderers, and cop killers,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement Friday. “Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Justice is once again enforcing the law and standing with victims.”

The Department is also looking to “streamline the process for seeking death sentences” and cut down the number of years between conviction and execution, the announcement states.
