Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

Okay, looks like you are right. Maybe they are already planning to make a ramp down to a path by the Barrie line?
I think you are right.
Found the same design for the pier of the pedestrian bridge at Bloor as part of the Barrie line MUP.

I believe this is the Construction Notice for that pier next to No Frills, predate the one I posted above.

In a way, it's nice the Davenport Greenway will be connected with the West Toronto Railpath Extension. Just wished this thing would get done sooner! ;)

What's the rush? It's not like anyone with authority will ever be held accountable for delivering key projects disgustingly late.

The final design was revealed in 2020 just before COVID hit, and yet it took six years to get to the point of starting construction? This is bonkers!

Just to confirm - this is the consensus that's developing, right?
That it's not the long-planned railpath extension, but instead a very large, brand-new footpath from Dundas St to ground-level?
...and that eventually there will be a whole other bridge - the long-planned one, over the barrie line, some 50 metres over.

Has anyone ever seen plans for this structure, in the Davenport Greenway documentation? They've cut down some trees behind the highschool, and also demolished the city building at the corner.

Got the metrolinx flyer this week. Seems to be zero information released from the city about this - nobody cutting a ribbon, or even a tweet.
cheers

This is my guess.

I noticed something new (?) from the Wallace bridge today, there seems to be about a 25m segment of the railpath that now has painted dashed lines separating direction of travel. Not sure why it's only that tiny segment but it obviously stands out as it's the only part that looks different. Coming to the rest of the railpath someday?

I also wonder why there isn't bench seating underneath the Wallace stairs since it's nice and shaded. Instead, the minimal seating along the path is located in direct sun:

I assume they'll do the rest eventually, yeah. The same dashed lines can be seen in the (still closed) segment of Railpath south of Bloor to the Perth entrance.
