Toronto 69 Yonge Marriott Tribute Hotel Conversion | ?m | 15s | Artifact | Giannone Petricone

I suspect you are correct but it will be interesting to see how the luxury hotel manages to create a suitable main entrance if it remains.
I would guess it ends up as a smaller store, mainly on the second floor. With exterior branding that's more subdued. IIRC there is (or was, idk, I haven't lived there in years, a Shoppers near Byward market in Ottawa that you'd never guess was a shoppers at first glance cus it had none of the usual red signage (or stock photos of old people) and was very respectful of the heritage building it was in, so they are capable of pulling that off when they have to)

As an aside, while I think the hotel plan is better than the silly condo plan from before, it's a shame we won't get an enclosed entrance to King station/the PATH here (Although the condo plan seemed to be resisting that anyway, but it was a good idea that the City/TTC was pushing for).

This is good news all round. The Partisans addition always looked like a bizarre architectural teratoma growing out of the roof.
