Well, most of our arterial roads (King, Queen, Dundas, College, DuPont, Yonge, Bay, Bathurst, Dufferin) will eventually be reduced to 2 car lanes as our city urbanizes and the majority of commuting is done on foot, bike, or PT. It might take 40 years to get there but we'll end up with proper sidewalks all over the place.

This building is going to look great. Although I'll admit I'm mostly (anxiously) waiting for signs of the colonnade happening along the south side. Dundas really could use wider sidewalks here, so it would be great if it happens.

The colonnade is certainly happening. You can already see it in how the ground floor is formed on either end. That solves that stretch of the narrow sidewalk. I hope city planners mandate a similar approach west of this to Bay Street for future development applications. You do see it in the proposal across the street. A colonnade on one, a set back on the other.
