Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Based on how long it took them to build the launch shaft at Exhibition to the actual launching date of the first TBM, I don't expect the Pape TBMs to start boring until next summer at the earliest, possibly even fall. The latest report from the Gerrard site was that half the piling has been completed. The good news is that the Pape underground segment is half as long as the downtown segment (3km vs 6km)
We’ve hit the 65% mark for piling at the Ontario Line’s second tunnel launch shaft – that’s nearly 800 out of roughly 1,200 total piles, or structural columns, installed.

My question is will they be allowed to hang some complex temporary works from the end of the bridge over the DVP and pour the concrete in-situ or will they pre-cast the units and have to close one direction of the DVP each time they lift the unit into place? I've witnessed the pre-cast unit process before but it that would be 14 different DVP closures from a count of the segments over the road.
I certainly wouldn't want to drive on the DVP with construction going on right above me. Regardless of the methods used, they will have to close the parkway. Is it a big deal? DVP has more closures than any major road in Toronto.

Whatever closures are needed would be relatively short anyways since each of the segments have to cure before they move on to the next one. Likely just weekend closures with controlled access for a continuous flow of concrete trucks and such.

Any guess how many linear meters of bridge are typically poured in each session ?

(Further back, it was suggested 4m each time - is that likely here ?)

iirc there are no closures of length. They do either 1 lane overnight closures or weekend closures. nothing during rush hour

All the major supports are in. Looks like they are just working on securing it...

Curious. Where will the pilings/dirt/sand/rock from the TBM be dumped? For the new convention centre in Lake Ontario? For the runway extensions for Billy Bishop Airport?
Traditionally it goes to organized-crime owned "clean" fill dump sites in rural areas outside of Toronto.

The sidewalk is expected to be closed until completion of the station building in mid-2030.
It says in the middle of 2030. Not middles 2030s. There is no S.
I'd be concerned about something in the water if Metrolinx suddenly began offering that kind of granularity for its dates this far in the future
You say that as a joke. But contracts have planned milestones and end dates. They absolutely know (plan) when the station should be finished.
