Random question. On the sides with the dramatic cladding, has anyone else noticed how the windows start out stretched and tall at the bottom and then slowly get smaller and smaller as it goes up? What is happening with the floor space? Obviously, not every floor is the size of the widow but I am just curious if, as it gets smaller, each floor has 2 windows per floor or 3 windows per floor vs the lower ones, which are much taller. Or perhaps the bottom windows can be taller because there is a much larger tenant space at the bottom, and it's actually all in one room? (Please forgive me if I am a noob, as I joined these forums purely for visual love of architecture and do not know much construction lingo or technical aspects).

The reason for the lower (podium) floors having a higher floor-to-ceiling height (which is what I believe you are referring to) than the residential floors is because the lower floors are used for different purposes. OCAD University will occupy some space in the lower floors, and I assume there will be amenities elsewhere in the podium.

Generally speaking, residential floors have lower floor-to-ceiling heights than floors used for other purposes, such as office or retail.

I wish they started with the taller tower. But perhaps in another 5-10 years when they decide to build the second tower they also increase the height when the market is better. Would be great to see this design be the tallest in Toronto.
