Hamilton International Airport

47 trips a week YHU-Toronto, plus whatever they are flying YUL-YTZ and YYZ. That's ambitious.
If these were offered at RyanAir prices then it would become price competitive for a group traveling vs car-sharing.

With the current fare structures of domestic flying, I'm curious what demand outlook they are projecting.

As for Hamilton, I would not be shocked to see 14x be cut down to 7x, though I guess they are projecting Hamilton to be a gateway hub for all of SW Ontario origins/destinations.

If it's Dash-8s operating it they only need to fill 75 seats - flying 2x daily with Dash-8s is basically the same seat capacity as 1x daily with the E195-E2.

Their service levels for YHU>YYZ/YTZ/YHM are definitely ambitious given that they all effectively serve the same market area though.. I assume we will see cutback of existing service levels to YUL?

The Montreal flight schedule isn't lining up; it does look like Ottawa may be coming our way... which I unfortunately think is an overkill...

YHM-YHU Departure: 0615
YHM-YHU Departure: 1550
YHU-YHM Arrival: 1725
YHU-YHM Arrival: 2025

There would need to be a Q400 arrival from somewhere (Ottawa) for there to be an aircraft to operate the 1550 flight to YHU...

I'm guessing this will be announced in the next few days as they keep the fanfare for YHU today

With YHU upgrades not including transborder capabilities, perhaps there is a seasonal or year round opportunity for the YHM routes to the south be seen as an opportunity for flow into Hamilton

Ouch those prices to Ottawa! It's a few bucks less than what i paid to go to Vancouver last year lol. I"m going to Ottawa in June probably either drive or take VIA rail for $125.

Yah those Ottawa prices aren't going to fly.$328 one way in the summer? Nobody is paying that premium.
They might be betting on connections, but thats why they have YHU.
Announcing and launching both YHU and YOW is a bit of a head scratcher... I'm not sure if we can support both in the current climate.

I planned on lots of travel in spring and summer First we’re going to Winnipeg from YHM on Porter’s for four days from May 15 to 18 and it’s an inaugural flight.

Second we’re driving to Ottawa and Montreal in July 2026 for five days and better than an expensive flight. Driving is cheaper and we will save money.

Here is the updated Departures/Arrivals schedule for the summer. Pretty sure I got all the numbers right this time.

I've also added a new historical summer stats overview to look at how we're doing compared to previous summers! I added the yearly total passengers just for reference.

awesome - so overall capacity at the airport is still well down from 2023 but the number and frequency of flights is higher. Now lets see if that rumoured european flight arrives.

Has Porter considered running a shuttle bus between Aldershot GO and Hamilton airport? Similar to their shuttle bus between Union and the Island airport?

Or maybe the city and HSR could work something out with the airport and have an airport shuttle bus run between Aldershot GO and Hamilton International. Similar to the TTC's airport shuttle bus running out of Kipling to Pearson.
