I'm saying post renovation. The Scotiabank Arena exterior is pretty damn sterile, the interior atmosphere isnt all that great in the bowl sections.

It's easy to say it looks good if one hasn't been exposed to arenas in other cities. For the sake of keeping this thread on topic in wont delve into details, but if you compare Scotiabank Arena to let's say Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles (which was built pretty much at the same time), the differences are night and day.

The problem is outside Scotiabank Arena, you have entrances to car parking lots. If they can somehow cover the area with a canopy (the area highlighted in yellow) and create a like a Freemont Street Experience there and also figure out a way to relocate the parking entrances and re-purpose all that into bars, restaurants, and other entertainment, and fully pedestrianize that area it will become amazing.

Scotiabank Arena is so tightly hemmed in that it has limited viewing angles. The only particularly prominent one is the terminating vista of Bremner, which I think was cleaned up quite nicely in the reno.

Rogers Centre is out in the wide open with a lot more to cover if they do a continuous wrap around the outside. It won’t come cheap but I hope they’re exploring ideas.

Interesting quote from Mark Shapiro's media availability today. I recall the timeline when the renovations were first announce in 2022 was that the renos were intended to buy 10-12 years. That would have implied that discussion about the dome's future would take place around during the early 2030s.

If this updated timeline is an accurate assessment of where the Blue Jays and Rogers stand regarding the Rogers Centre future, that would imply that serious discussion about the future of dome won't take place until the late 2030s/early 2040s.

I love the look of T-Mobile park, it feels like a modern Camden yards with retractable roof. I think that’s the big change we could do- something with the roof.

We’re not getting another downtown stadium. We’re not getting this kind of proximity to transit. Dome stays forever.

Totally agree, nothing wrong with the dome except the exterior. The bones are fine, lots of suites, retractible roof, great party zones etc etc. I am fine with incremental changes. I hope the next renos do something with the exterior.
