Looks like Porter is increasing service to Winnipeg to 6x weekly for the summer.
I hope this is a sign on how well the summer sales out of YHM are going.
I was looking for a flight to St. John's NL (YYT) for this summer out of YHM and I noticed that porter is now flying 7 times a week to YYT up from 5. So, I checked the other destinations and found that Winnipeg (YWG) is now 6 days up from 4. Also, they are showing Dear Lake (YDF) as a connecting flight out of YHM through Halifax (YHZ). This is new.
So, I guess that JakeLRS is going to have to make an updated schedule!
the only problem is that I think this would close the access for the baggage trucks to access the baggage claim.Hopefully more jetways get added in to fill outside gap between the white tunnel and jetway network.
Here are the December DoT numbers for Porter.Would be interesting to see what load factors are across the board at YHM for Porter in comparison to their operations at other airports. Would also love to get some insight on the timing and initial routes of the new Montreal Metro Airport (including any pairings with Euro bound Air Transat flights).
Any Intel on the build-out config of all the jet bridges (I recall in previous posts there were 9 in total).
Many thanks, hopefully with the commitment they made with the Hamilton Stadium, the element of local awareness will be elevated, which should translate to higher load factors. Here are the December DoT numbers for Porter.
Hamilton
FLL: 2497/3696 = 67.6%
MCO: 1573/2244 = 70.1%
Combined: 4070/5940 = 68.5%
YHM had the lowest load factor when compared to YOW, YUL, YHZ, and YYZ. However, this is the first season for these routes where the others are now in their 2nd season.
In terms of the extra jet bridges, the rumour in this thread was to add 2 more, but the loads aren’t warranting them at this point.
Where do you look up the DoT data? Did the load factors for the other airports go up from last year? Here are the December DoT numbers for Porter.

Porter doesn't have the cash for something like this. YHU-YHM for all intents and purpose would be a non revenue flight.Let's hope for a surprise YHM connect
So which YHU routes will work?Porter doesn't have the cash for something like this. YHU-YHM for all intents and purpose would be a non revenue flight.
If they try and launch that they are in worse shape than I thought. Even out of Yyz, Yhu flights didn't work. I worked a bunch of them back in the1990 to 1991 period and frequently there were single digit loads and sometimes no pax at all. And that was on 42 seater. Every flight felt like a ferry flight!
At this point under these circumstances no routes will likely work. In better times probably select north-south winter routes on weekends may work. Hamilton is not even working now based on the numbers that have been released. They're not even filling 132 seats at rock bottom prices. Near doubling of jet fuel prices are only accelerating Porter's operating costs. So which YHU routes will work?
