March 17
Either in May or June there will be a public online update of the project after ML finally goes before the 3 council. More info will be announced closer to the date.

I ended up doing an unexpected walk to Dundas today for the first time this year. Hydro has most of the wiring strung on the new westside poles. After they are working and sometime this year, all the east side poles and wires will be remove from John St to Burnhamthorpe Rd.

By the looks of things, excavation of part of construction area on the west side of Hurontario St off John St is taking place for a substation.

Bracing is being installed to hold the tracks in place from John St to south of the emergency pad is taking place with concrete to be pour first of the Cooksville Station follow by the rest of the tracks being pour.

Trackwork between John St and Hillcrest is ready to be level and pour in place. The guideway area south of Hillcrest has been clean and built to allow trackwork to be install from Hillcrest and where the tracks were place in 2025.

No work taking place for both corners of the northside of Dundas. Part of the southbound guideway curb has been rebuilt and is trap.

More up on my site.

They are breaking brand new concrete at intersections because they did it wrong. Complete waste of money and resources. The progress on this line is dismal at best.
Where are you seeing this? Most of the intersections north of the 401 where fully rebuilt with Topflight itself being done now and a remaining area for part of the OMSF tracks connecting to Topflight still to be done. All of the OMSF tracks where rebuilt that were encased in concrete including Topflight intersection There are large areas where tracks are pour in place that will see the anchor base rebuilt to deal with gauge issues.

Trader intersection saw a small amount trackwork on the north side done, haft of Matheson northbound track intersection so far and will look at later tonight when I have to up that way as well Watergarden intersection. Haven't seen the corridor since February to see if anything else has change.

The work from OMSF to Matheson was to have been complete by the end of 2022 to allow testing of the new fleet to start in February 2023. In February 2025, testing was to start in July to Eglinton in place of Matheson and should now happen by September 2026. The first test will be a walking speed with the first LRV been tow to check for issues. It will take place for both tracks.

This has to deal with Alstom failing to fix the bogies of the LRV's to meet NA standards and their warranty. Ottawa LRV's started this issue that are the same car for Finch, Hurontario and Hamilton.

Hurontario / Barondale shows a notice for March 16 - April 13
Hurontario / Brunel shows one for March 3 - March 16 (haven't been in that area in a while but it SHOULD be done by now)

There are some others that should have been done in February.

The rails connecting OMSF on Topflight are still covered and have a heater going.

Nothing for me to report on in Brampton, the guideway construction near Ray Lawson is more than likely being left alone until warmer weather comes. A lot of it looks like it's covered by the orange tarps they have. Some sections of Ray Lawson/Hurontario are being blocked off for utility work that's being done in phases. I believe once they're finished that, they'll be good to continue with shifting lanes over.

The Square One Drive extension will see it extended from Confederation Blvd west to Rathburn Rd W roundabout west of Elora drive with part of it all ready build beside Parkside Village AVIA. The other phase will see it extended east of Hurontario St to Rathburn Rd E Roundabout as a 5 connection at Shipp Dr

The City Centre Drive extension is two extension and will be interesting how the road name change since they will become 2 different roads. The current east-west section will continue east south of the current 55 City Centre tower on an angle to connect with Hurontario St at Absolute Dr. The north-south section will continue south to Burnhamthorpe Rd W with a new intersection. This will help in the redevelopment of that large parcel parking lot on the north-west corner of Hurontario St, Burnhamthorpe Rd W and Robert Speck Pkwy

Both road extension will have an impact on the LRT loop that is in limbo at this time due to the EA's and will not be built while after the line opens in 2028 or the end of 2027.

The City of Mississauga has initiated two separate Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) studies for Square One Drive and City Centre Drive in Downtown Mississauga. The projects are building on the City’s Downtown Movement Plan (2024), which identified the need for a multi-modal fine-grained street network in downtown Mississauga and recommended the extensions of Square One Drive and City Centre Drive.

The Class EA studies will assess the need and examine alternatives for the potential road extensions. Due to the proximity of the two study areas, the studies are being undertaken concurrently to confirm the transportation needs and to identify and evaluate a range of multi-modal solutions to improve connectivity and support future travel demand in the area.

CIMA+ is assisting the City in conducting the studies, which are being completed in accordance with the Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2024), approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

This month, the City is holding the first of two Public Information Centres to provide an opportunity for the public and interested parties to discuss these studies with the project team. The Public Information Centre will be held on March 26, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (drop in) at the Living Arts Centre (Mississauga Room) on 4141 Living Arts Drive in Mississauga. The Public Information Centre materials will also be made available on the study website on March 26, 2026. Further details about the Public Information Centre are provided in the attached notice.

We invite you to review the Public Information Centre materials and provide your feedback to the project team by April 9, 2026.

February saw Brunel, Trader, Matheson intersections been worked on. The whole of Topflight Dr was also been worked. The first haft was done on Feb 21 and trap with the rest of the tracks being removed is slab section to the intersection. Due to the weather, no shots taken that day. The second section is near completion today. No idea if the intersection will see work for the curve track, but the missing guideway and part of the OMSF guideway need to be built as rebuilt with driveways in the way.

Brunel saw only a small part of the southbound track on the northside been worked on. I believe work started on the northbound track around Feb 21 for Trader and no idea how much was done for it The south haft of the northbound track was been done and the only thing that took place from what we saw on the March the 17th. Looks like some trackwork may have taken place south of the Matheson intersection or I miss it last year as one rail has a small gap for splicing while the other has a foot gap. There is about a six foot of missing track for the northbound track about mid point between Brunel and Matheson.

March 17
The Mobil sign for Barondale said the intersection was close March 17. 75% of the southbound track starting on the northside is to be rebuilt based on the saw cuts and no saw cuts for the northbound track. A small section of the northbound track at the intersection is waiting concrete to be pour for it. Don't recall if it was like this last year or it was done some time ago.

No idea what was taking place for Watergarden intersection on Feb 21 with no left turn in place and will have a look at it in April. March 17th saw both tracks have been pour in place between Watergarden and Nahani Way with heaters in place on tarp on them. More form work has been installed north Nahani Way where rail and track work not pour in place. A few sections of track work missing that was in stalled in 2024.

All of the 401 overpass track work is 100% completed. Crews still working on the track work from the 401 to Courtneypark Dr intersection with topcoat to be pour to encase the track work for the station area. Rebuilding of the northbound track for the full block needs to be done with no rail in place. Only a small section of the southbound under trap and heater as rest of the track work is done.

A number of the existing bus shelters have been reinstalled on new pads and currently out of service. The northbound shelter is higher than the existing sidewalk as well on part of it with asphalt slopping up to the shelter.

Crews working on the track work for Britannia station and the block with trap on the tracks. Cannot tell if concrete been pour for it with heaters on site.

The crossover at Waltline is finally installed and waiting concrete work.

Since some of my sources have moved on, haven't walked various sections this year, no idea how many more intersections will see full or partly rebuilt south of the 401. Eglinton was to see work based on 2025 info, but how much.

Hard to see the work for the 403 connection to Hurontario St, but the stockpile of form block said the last layer is still waiting to be place to bring it up to grade.

Based on what we saw today, all track work will be done by June from Topflight to Eglinton if not sooner.
