All-You-Can-Eat Sushi

Marriko on Bloor Street West is also great. Just east of Bathurst on the south side. Mint Green interior.

Around $16 and the menu includes around 20 kinds of maki/rolls and a bunch of sashimi plus cooked items.

Another great one is on Yonge Street between Eglinton and Davisville calle Echo Sushi. Around $18 but the price includes drinks, desert, and many many options.

What kind of drinks?

I think the drinks at Echo included just the regular stuff like juice, pop, tea, and coffee.

Especially "all-you-can-eat" anything. Just discusting, really.

Yeah, the characteristic Archie gag. Juggie leaves Pop's with a full stomach, as Pop Tate hammers a "closed for the day" sign over the "all you can eat" sign

It's getting tough to find a low priced AYCE sushi place these days.
Some places leave sashimi out, quietly requesting an extra fee for the Sashimi (if desired) while others simply force a service fee around 13% (or so) added to the AYCE price.
Then there's the places that say that if you buy a VIP card, you get 10% off the AYCE price and all you can drink free pop.
That's how it seems to be today....

Yeah I went for some a month or so ago and they added the 20% tip without asking, so I asked them to take it off and felt guilty the rest of the day

Did you add the fake plastic grass too?
Lol, I miss Urban Shocker, my favourite user on UrbanToronto. I think he was Building Babel before? He was already old back then, so I guess he has passed.

I had all-you-can-eat sushi almost everyday in Quebec years ago. It wasn't actually an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but it was my dad's restaurant, and I made the sushi there so might as well make some for myself too.

The economics for things like AYCE sushi don't work the same anymore in the post-Covid and current price inflation reality. In a similar manner for AYCE buffets expect to pay $35 to 45ish per person, around $20 for a bowl of pho or ramen after tax and tip, and dim sum is pretty pricey now too. Food items that were seen as a good bargain before and now more or less priced accordingly to cover risen expenses.

Speaking of AYCE sushi, MOMO KOKO at Warden & Steeles has closed down recently. Pricey but good quality, was pretty busy when I went twice during the tax free holiday time last year. Some discussion on its closing from Reddit:
