Hamilton International Airport

I am also hearing that Air Transat maybe doing europe this summer from YHM. They will have to do something with all of the aircraft they are pulling from the US. It looks like Porter will now be doing all of Air Transat flights to Florida on a code share. When you go to Air Transat site it will give you a Porter flight for the states.
Better announce soon!
Very curious where they'll attempt to fly to. I'm also shocked they are considering YHM when they have a fortress in Quebec and YYZ.

The airport needs to continue to heavily advertise new and existing routes from YHM.

First get the routes then do the advertising...

I hope this is a sign on how well the summer sales out of YHM are going.

I was looking for a flight to St. John's NL (YYT) for this summer out of YHM and I noticed that porter is now flying 7 times a week to YYT up from 5. So, I checked the other destinations and found that Winnipeg (YWG) is now 6 days up from 4. Also, they are showing Dear Lake (YDF) as a connecting flight out of YHM through Halifax (YHZ). This is new.

So, I guess that JakeLRS is going to have to make an updated schedule!

Will certainly have to.

Will wait to see if these Air Transat rumours come to light

I see Porter is upping the upping the marketing with the build of The Porter Hangar down at the Hamilton Stadium. (when will it become Porter Field).

There's absolutely no reason for Transat to run anything across the pond this summer from YHM unless they've reached full capacity at YYZ or it is a block seat deal for another entity. Normally stuff like this is planned almost a year in advance so I wouldn't anticipate a Summer 26 program without it have been already announced for ticket sales.

Transat has a wickedly robust summer program so there's no worry about them finding work for their tails. Porter on the other hand still suffers from anemic utilization and that will eventually kill them unless the fleet is pared down or all the birds currently rostered see more flying.

I've felt for years that Transat should be flying to Europe from YHM. Id argue Europe flights have done well in the past, its just been the airlines have folded. But they haven't folded because of YHM flights. Get a long sustained company and you'd see a much better shot at the service being maintained.

Transits A321NEOs would be a perfect fit. Maybe now that the deal with the airport and the city has been extended and the jetways are in, its become more viable/vantage is being more aggressive.

Was excited today to use the new jet ways on flight to FLL, but no deal, they took us out to the outdoor catwalk. Oh well, thankfully there is the service to FLL regardless, and really hoping they can get Montreal Metropolitan up and running with a connection there in 2026

I could see YMH-Lisbon being a possible route. There is a large Portuguese diaspora in Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo region.

I got to use one today on my flight to YHZ, the new jet bridges are nice.

Eh. Yes the 321XLR changes the calculus about Europe service out of YHM. But my point about YHM is that a large portion of the potential population base lives East of YYZ meaning that you'd be driving past YYZ (with more flight options) to get to YHM. And that's not the most convenient drive. The other question would be are there enough connecting flights that could fill the plane out of YHM.

But with the 321XLR yeah maybe that makes the numbers look a little more positive.

How full was the flight?

Better question is, how many people were on the flight?
Flights there and back both about 90% full. That being said, my return flight was cancelled and pushed up by 1 day without getting notified, which I did not appreciate. It looks like they consolidated 3 mostly empty return flights from an 3-day period into 1 mostly full return flight.
