Toronto Quayside | ?m | ?s | Dream | Allies and Morrison

Totally missed this yesterday. It is really a terrible stretch to drive let alone walk - I see people parking on the north side for the Distillery Winter Market and almost getting hit either walking east on the north side or crossing where there are blind spots daily. Hope they’re done soon….
This whole area will be a mess for 5-10 years. Not ideal to get people across to the park

Quayside is a 12-acre, multi-phase project being developed by Dream, Great Gulf and Waterfront Toronto. To be built along the Toronto waterfront, Dream Impact plans to develop approximately 1,100 market rental units in a public-private partnership with Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto.

Dream Impact expects to own 25 per cent of the development.

Progress is moving as anticipated, Dream Impact said, estimating it is approximately nine months behind the development start of 49 Ontario.

Like 49 Ontario, the development of Quayside is expected to benefit from government aid such as the federal HST waiver and Toronto’s development charge waivers.

Lines up with my guess - Porsche moves to new location early summer, demo begins by mid summer.

...they are rentals though? The tumbleweed phase shouldn't last that long. Hopefully. >.<

Looks like they might be done with this part of the construction. The hole has been filled in. No one was on site today and it doesn't appear that anything else has happened.

Unfortunately, Waterfront TO has given them until DECEMBER to return the roads and public realm to pre-construction state.

Groundbreaking is supposed to be Q4 of this year for the rentals of phase 1.

They need to demolish the Porche dealership first - they're moving in June I believe so I would expect demolition by the end of summer. My guess is the ground will likely also need to be remediated given the area's industrial past. Q4 possible but my bet is no actual building begins until Q1.

Actually the dealership just announced that they will be moved out by April 27, so we might see things moving along much faster.
