Growing culture or not, have other cities or countries put money into purpose built arenas for it, how long have they been up and running and are there indications they’ll still be using that space for that in twenty years.

Not that I think private sport arenas should be funded by govt. but I feel like if you can guarantee your sports team is sticking around for 20yrs in the facility being proposed then yeah, city recoups economic benefit.

Arlington, Seoul, Vegas, and LA, have all had eSports arenas since 2018. The largest eSports venue opened in China in 2017.

Ontario Creates has had a Esports strategy since 2023.

That aside, you've been claiming that this thing's just around the corner for over two years now and...bupkis. Why's that?
Feel free to share where I claimed that.
I'm sure it will be easy for you if I've been going on about it for over two years.

Right?

There isn't a post, correct. But if your claim that you've not been the hardest booster of this nonsense I'm not sure what to tell you, bruv.
Why follow up a lie with another lie?

I have 8 posts in this thread. One disappointed in the design, two addressing your chirping now, one pointing out that multi use venues downtown are not sitting empty, and the rest talking about the esports industry. Maybe take a walk before coming back with more nonsense.

Ugly

Ah there we go, that's more appropriate for Toronto. Dry, stale, ugly, generic, and sterile just how this city likes it!

To be clear, this is atrocious, and should not be allowed to be built in this incarnation.

And the truth finally comes out for what this will be: A concert hall, which can accommodate concerts, esports competitions, conventions, and corporate events. This was never going to be an e-sports stadium, it was all a delusion/facade.

I assume, like most stadiums and venues, naming rights will come up. personally i would like to see a change from the same companies, i.e., BMO, TD, Rogers, Bell, names maybe something different, like the Telus Center or Loblaws Place, idk something different.
