Remember that SM location is fed primarily from people coming north from the neighbourhood, not west on Dundas. Store does gangbusters too.
Like Lambton/Roselands area? I thought that Smythe and Syme and Harwood were still pretty hardscrabble, but maybe that perception is outdated.

Except for the blocks between Gilmour and Jane....Hopefully the blocks between Clendenan and Gilmour continue their improvement.
What's up with the area? Never lived there but spent a good chunk of time in the area and honestly never noticed any crazy change in neighbourhoods themselves south of Dundas as you go west to Jane.

The Junction tends to taper off from Malta Park westward. Hopefully Craft and Gairloch's other project nearby helps the retail scene in this section and towards Runnymede by adding more critical mass in local population.

June 2013, years before SM opened here

January 2026, SM long opened, and no houses seem to have been demolished, particularly not the one (190 Brookside) at the south side of the building that currently hosts SM.
well.. maybe we live in parallel universes.. I live in reality, not rellying on Google maps/Earth to "prove me wrong"! :))
Anyway, I pass this spot almost every evening... and there is an extension of SM's parking lot at the expense of recently demolished house..
promise to take a shot next time!

The "new" parking lot is pretty busy during the day, today the tree in the back is just being trimmed.

😲
Touche, I honestly didn't think the city would issue demolition permits of residences for parking lots anymore, but I guess the universe bends to the will of high-end boutique grocers

Right you were, fair enough. However...

They don't, and this isn't that. It's for a one-storey storage building, likely for SM, not a parking lot.
