More housing supports coming to downtown Kitchener, and it's not capped at 4 stories (*cough* 11 Brock *cough*).

100 units in this phase, a future 70 units in a later phase.

Demolition is starting this month:

The balance of construction permit for this has been issued. Shoring was completed over the winter and excavation is ongoing. Today they were pouring the crane base for this when I was heading north along the LRT, when I was heading south along the LRT the base was completed. This project will be precast provided by Stubbe's.

The crane is now up with much of the foundation work completed. There is minimal above grade work completed, with what is completed primarily along the shoring wall at the back of the site. As is the case with most KW projects the GC is Melloul Blamey.

This is only 7 floors tall not 10, just as an FYI for the mods. The building is structurally topped out, cladding work has progressed. A friend of mine is involved with the project and the plan is for the crane to come down in the new year. I don't have any recent photos unfortunately, the photos I took yesterday don't really get this one as it just blends in with everything.

Crane came down on February 2nd, which is when these photos are from. Just didn't get around to posting them. Went by last week, and nothing is substantially different from these photos, other than the crane being completely gone.

Some crane disassembly in action.

As good a photo as I could get from on the ION of the front of the building. Not all that different from previous posts.

Even caught the crane's twisty bit (that's definitely the technical term) being removed.
