Is the Tim Hortons going to remain? In the late 2000s it was a Loblaws-run coffee stand.

Not unless TimHortons start selling BubbleTea!

Image from last week,.. see the corner behind the bottom of stairs, beside the sliding doors,… that corner is where the TimHortons was,…. If you squint your eyes, you might see an empty TimHortons cup littering the floor

Would anyone know the history behind that staircase connecting Loblaws with the main floor? Has it ever been used in a functional way in the past?

Yes, staircase was fully functional,....

But since Pandemic - when 5800 Yonge hosted Homeless Shelter from Summer 2020 to Fall 2023, lots of ShopLifting at this EmpressWalk Loblaws - so they tighten security by installing security gates/plexiglass barriers and closed off Staircase

I suspect these old Staircase will be replaced by escalators

Looks like they’re planning to take the staircase down soon,… floor tiles gone and this forklift seems about 3 feet too short - so maybe have to stack some pallets

I was hoping that they will re-open this. Maybe a turnstile can be installed to make it as an one -way entrance.
