Buttonville Municipal Airport was primarily used for general aviation and training and closed in late 2023 as the lease with Cadillac Fairview came to an end. Located in suburban Markham next to the busy Highway 404, the 67 hectare site will be redeveloped into an industrial zone, although the initial 2011 plan called for a mix of residential and commercial buildings.
