What if they built a $100 billion tunnel?
Seriously thought, it's nowhere near the Holland Marsh - the really prime agriculture. And much of the land is farm fields. It looks easy enough to avoid subdivisions and wetland/pond features. There might be a bit of problematic land south of Bond Lake. But I don't see that stopping a stubborn government, and it looks as though it could go along the edge, and they could compensate with additional land. Or just build some short cut-and-cover tunnels - which you see in Europe
