Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

You haven't been watching the ones thread apparently they are currently getting ready to form the top floor of the final mechanical level at which time they will be on to normal floor plates which they do in under a week so once the ones final mech is finished we're looking at 8 weeks until top out Even as fast as this is going up I doubt they can build 28 floors in 8 weeks in 8 weeks
I was the one who did the napkin math in that thread on where they are at... and I live like right across from the One so I watch the tower everyday... It is real slow.

In fact, I also work close to Sky Tower with full view to the construction so I effectively can compare the progress of the two day to day, which is why I even made that comment.

It's easy to visualize it. It's going to be the exact same height as the main pod of the CN Tower, which is to say it will tower above anything else in the skyline other than the CN Tower.
Unless the One comes to a complete stop that won't happen.

It's been stuck at the mechanical levels for about 3 months. Yes, there's only 6 or 7 levels left, but remember that even the top of the 85th floor is still below 300 m (around 298 m I think), and then it may take them another 3 months (at least) to complete the mechanical penthouse, which will make it a supertall. Say they start working on the first level above the current level 2 weeks from now, give another 2 -2.5 months to get to the 85th, plus 3 months to complete the crown, that's 5.5 to 6 months. During that time Sky Tower may well hit the magical 300m mark, making it the first supertall in Canada.
For me though, stuck seems to imply stalled or stopped. I can assure you it's likely neither. Slowed to a painstaking crawl, yes. But not stuck, IMO...as work is still being done in building it.

It’s semantics. I also don’t think the project stalls or stops. Cladding is progressing, maybe some interior fitting too (?). But the current mech levels seem to take longer to complete than previous ones (I think about 2 months each?). No idea why.

No way... The One only has 6 floors to go, plus Mech. It will be long finished before Sky Tower tops out...
...it has won it's race to be this country's first super. Full stop.
That’s true but I feel like I’ve noticed a lot of progress on the one but this’ll definitely be a bit close in the sense that the one won’t hold the title as Canada’s tallest for long..
NO, it has not won the race to be the country’s first supertall, and there’s a very good chance it won’t hold the title at all. Yes, The One will reach 300m first and is likely to top out first as well, but that does not mean it will actually be Canada’s first supertall.

The CTBUH—whether you agree with them or not—is the sole authority on these matters and only considers a building’s height official upon completion, which specifically means the following;

This is not mere semantics, it’s precisely why, for example; Goldin Finance 117 is not  on any list of the world’s tallest buildings, despite having topped out at 597m (1,957 ft) nine years ago!!

There is a very good chance that One Yonge will be fully clad and partially occupied(i.e. open for business) well before The One, officially making it Canada’s first supertall just as I've always predicted.

@SkylineHorizons
So you think Pinnacle will pour ~45 more floors, plus mechanical, finish the cladding and open some part of this building before One Bloor will finish ~8 floors, plus mechanical, finish the cladding and open the hotel or retail or a condo unit?
The Pinnacle project will be “The Star One” if that happens. I’m not betting against you though.

I was browsing the images of Pinnacle One and came across a few random buildings that caught my interest. Could someone tell me more about these (B) collection of towers?

Also, what is Tower A?

And in the second picture, could you provide the names of those towers? I'm curious to know whether they've been approved, are under construction, or have already been completed.

Thanks!

Edit: I just noticed that I've also marked Tower A in the second picture.

The map feature is very easy to use now too.
B = Sugar Wharf Phase 2
A = The HUB
2nd picture, left = Union Park
2nd picture middle tower = Union Centre

I do. Not only is Pinnacle rising about twice as fast—they've clad and poured almost 30 floors in just seven months, while in the same period One Bloor has managed only about half that—so they are quickly catching up(likely topping off about six months after OB).
Today, July 8.
Progress on the 32nd floor.

@Johnny Au
What do you think?
However, the mechanical work on One Bloor is significantly more complicated, as is access to the building. I’d be shocked if it were ready for occupancy anytime soon after being topped off and clad. In contrast, I can easily see Pinnacle being occupied shortly after, or even before its cladding is completed, thanks to its more straightforward design and *also its less constrained work site.
