Yeah, that's a fair assessment of the place. Personally, I'm going to keep my eyes on any redevelopment plans for this block, since Cibo takes up a decent part of the middle of the block.

Lots more will be closing in 2025. Soaring rents, higher food costs, higher wages, and declining sales because their customers can’t afford to dine out/splurge.
I'm glad i left the industry. I've noticed so many fine dining restaurants close during lunch these days. When i was working in high-end restaurants in the early to mid 00s. Lunch was just as good as a money maker as dinner for us servers. All the wealthy Bay Streeters and office crowd on expence accounts kept the money flowing. Those days are mostly gone.

The financial district restaurants still do a pretty great lunch business Tuesday-Thursday now, but Mondays are quiet and Fridays are completely dead. I wonder what's happened with rent in those places to reflect that the FD is now a 3 day a week economy instead of a 5 day one?

My business partner and I had many lunches at Canoe, Jump and the like back in the day. Now we each work at home permanently. Also I haven't had a meal indoors in five years and I'm not going to risk frying my brain or infecting my husband for a fancy meal.

It is with a heavy heart and deep gratitude that we share this news: Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen is closing.
Since we first opened in 2016, we’ve had the privilege of sharing countless meals, drinks, and memories with all of you—our wonderful staff, and our incredible community from Harbord Village and beyond. Your support, laughter, and love have made these years truly unforgettable.
We’ll be open for the next two weeks, until January 19, and we’d love nothing more than to see you one last time to celebrate the journey we’ve shared together.

That's unfortunate. I've never been to Her Father's but I've always appreciated the nicely decorative signage and exterior of that corner on Harbord

Oh dammit! I loved that place, my friend lives around the corner, that was our go to spot, plus they had gluten free dishes on the menu, perfect for my friend who is GF.
