Back on topic for a moment - from yesterday (December 12) evening - good progress for a day and a half considering the crew was also installing the mounting brackets on the edges of the floor slabs as they went along.

December 13 - The cladding / glazing installation crew has now moved to the south side of King Toronto - working there today in this cold weather. Although cold, it was quite bright out. so some general building overview photos.

Not trying for a hot take,but I don’t think king Torontos glass block cladding is going to be as spectacular as we hoped. To be honest, on its own it looks plain to me. This project is only going to flourish because of the greenery incorporated into it. Which begs the question, how many other buildings in Toronto could be improved by a little ivy Off top oh my head, I’m thinking hotel x, the new MEC building on queen. And any of the existing subway stations. And any of our wood hydro poles. I’d love to see a “greening” of Toronto

If they actually implement the greenery properly like Bosco Verticale did in Milano, then this will look great. If they don't...

The Toronto Master Gardener is quoted in a number of places so: Instead of English Ivy, Periwinkle, Goutweed, or Lily-of-the-Valley, the Toronto Master Gardeners suggested that you grow: Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia); Wild Ginger (Asarum canadense); Canada Mayflower (Maianthemum canadense); Woodland/wild Strawberry (Fragaria spp.); or Bunchberry dogwood (Cornus canadensis).
